D Review
The district circuit court clerks and DV clerks are VERY incompetent. They lost my forms, took 3 weeks to mail 2 out of 3 of my forms to Upper Marlboro after saying they would do it within a week and had the audacity to get an attitude with me. This whole thing has been such a turn off from PG county as a whole. I’ve dealt with courts in MoCo and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. A mess.

It seems the bailiffs are real chummy in court to Jan 6 insurrectionists. They laughed it up and let 1776ers wear fake hillbilly teeth In Court. What is going on in your courts?

Call the Courthouse Clerks Office for more information.
They are allowed to raise the rent, yes.
No, the courthouse is only open Monday through Friday from 8:15 to 4:30
The court itself is closed until Monday but the Commissioners office is open 24 hours
The courthouse is closed today due to a water main break.
File a small claim in room 200A You can also consult with a lawyer to see a legal side of things. There arent any free lawyers in the Hyattsville courthouse but you can go to the one in Upper Marlboro to speak to one in rooms 069B or 2435.
There should be translators available for court
Go to the court house and talk to landlord and tenant
You have to show up regardless. You do not want them to issue you a bench warrant
There is a legal process to properly evict someone. You would want to go in to the landlord tenant office located inside of the Hyattsville courthouse to see what/if there is anything you can do about it
I was told by the commissioners office that the courts will be closed today.
Call legal aid. Or, the District Court Self-help Resource Center @ 41O-26O-1392. Lawyers answer questions by phone m-f 8:30am-8:00pm, or in person @ several district court buildings located throughout MD. They are invaluable when a lawyer to personally represent you is simple not feasible!
