Kate the Asst Manager is amazing. From the start she made me feel welcomed and part of the group. Unfortunately not all OTF’s are created equal but it’s nice to have a smiling face greet you when you’re entering in the gym for a 6:00am workout. 😊

I have never been so disgusted with a fitness gym in my life. I applied to a position at the Orangtheory on Aliceanna St. in Baltimore earlier this year. After a wonderful phone interview, I was invited to attend an introductory class just to "know what intros (aka new members) go through." It was my understanding this was the last step before being officially hired on board. Before this introductory class, I was always met with quick replies via email whenever I had any questions, and was told to immediately reach out as soon as the introductory class was over. Upon arriving, I noticed I was the only non-white person who would have been working in that location, and I was also the heaviest. I asked a few employees if they had other plus sized employees working there and was told they do. I later found out that was a lie. During the phone interview, I was transparent about being overweight so this was no surprise (I interviewed with the regional Manager named Maria (pronounced Mah-rye-ah). During my introductory class, I was given an armband that didn't work. The employee didn't even help me connect it to the machine after putting the armband on me. If it weren't for the member beside me, I wouldn't have noticed it wasn't working, nor would I have known it wasn't recording my workout. The member took time from her workout to assist me in getting a new one after wasting 12 minutes in the class without recorded progress. Also, the armbands were so tiny that they aren't inclusive to anyone with more weight on their arms or bodies. After my intro class, I reached out to the manager as I was asked to do and received no response. I waited a week to follow up, still without a reply. This was a person who responded within the same day prior to my introductory class which leads me to believe I was discriminated against based on my body type and/or my race. I didn't feel welcome in that space and will NEVER go back again. These are trash individuals who work in a trash fitness center. Luckily, it's franchise owned, so maybe I could try a different location if I ever want a better experience as a member but I'd never apply to work for this place again. Guess what? It's been about six months now, and they are still hiring for that same position even though they lied and told me a month later in email that the position was closed and they "decided to go with another candidate." Go figure.

All of the trainers and staff are fantastic. I've worked with Chris for about 6 months and he really tailors each workout to my needs. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the area who wants to get fit or continue working towards their fitness goals

This is how all gyms should be run! New, clean and top notch equipment & no pre-workout needed because the atmosphere is motivation enough!!
