The Tow Center (which used to be known as the Gershwin Center) is one of Brooklyn College's HUGEST assets. It makes Brooklyn College pretty good for the study of the performing arts (although being in Manhattan itself is usually more beneficial) although I studied Acting, Voice & Piano @ Brooklyn for YEARS growing up; specifically during my elementary and high school years. I took two "gap years" in between high school and college, during which time I took classes at both Brooklyn & Hunter, as well as continued to study with the same Acting, Vocal and Piano instructors @ Brooklyn that I'd been working with since the second grade, and I came to appreciate Brooklyn (& the CUNY system itself) in a whole new way. I didn't end up getting my degree at Brooklyn (or at Hunter either), but I think the CUNY system offers a solid education to students, with an amazing amount of resources.

Great arts support, accessable shows, and chances to gain access to things students and people in the community never had the chance to before. Im a huge supporter and started with my grandparents taking me to shows like the nutcracker every year
