I had a very terrible phone conversation with the manager - Taylor - of the Gamestop in The Villages this evening. I had ordered a product online and it was being fulfilled through his store. I noted almost immediately the delivery address was wrong and first called GameStop who said to call after the tracking was received. When I did that they said the store already had the order. I received a text message from doordash saying it was "dispatched", but I called the local store to get information regarding what I could do to get it delivered to the right address. Lo and behold Taylor said he had the package and it was not yet picked up. I thought my worries were over. Not so! Taylor then told me that there was nothing he could do to ensure it got delivered to the right address; he wouldn't even put the right address on it, or inform the DoorDash delivery person who was to pick it up tomorrow morning. He basically told me there was nothing he would do to correct the problem even though he obviously could. I couldn't cancel the order as it was "already dispatched" although it had not left the store; I could not get assistance to ensure it was properly delivered because it was out of Taylor's hands even though the package was right in front of him. This is what passes for customer service at GameStop. I highly recommend you try to steer away from them, and specifically this store. I do intend to take this "up the ladder" with someone in their corporate headquarters to find out if this is really how they expect their store managers to assist customers. I can't believe it is.
