We have a nonverbal autistic son who really benefitted from this experience. Thank you Victoria, Theo and the volunteers! We hope to be back again.

I have been a volunteer with GallopNYC for the past 2 years and have experienced truly a place of joy! The horse riding instructors, therapists and staff are incredibly diligent and capable and meet the challenge of their role managing rider, horses, and volunteers with confidence and enthusiasm! I highly recommend learning more about the mission and becoming involved in this organization that "Believes in Ability" and makes smiles happen everyday!

They have 3 locations (Forest Hills, Lindenwood, and Howard Beach). You can sign up to volunteer in their website and sign a waiver/do a digital orientation. Most of the volunteering is assisting in walking children who are riding the horses. There are also some opportunities for volunteer stable work. Go to volunteer.gallopnyc.org

Hi Edwin, GallopNYC only offers lessons, no trail rides. Lessons prices are on the website - GallopNYC.org. Thanks!
Hi Shaya, GallopNYC is proud to be able to support riders who might not be able to afford therapeutic riding lessons. Our tuition is based on a sliding scale, we provide receipts for the "Family Reimbursement" component of the Home and Community Based Services - Medicaid Waiver, and for riders who use Self Directed services, we can receive payments directly from your Fiduciary Institution (FI). More information can be found at our website --> http://gallopnyc.org/tr
Your instructor will assess your ability and allow you to canter if it will be safe for you to do so.
No, however GallopNYC offers lessons in Forest Park.
