A beautiful view. You can drive right to it.

The overlook: fantastic and breathtaking. The view reminds me of the famous horseshoe bend The drive: the last mile of the road is a gravel road and one should drive slow as the the road is narrow. Follow the sign for the over look and ignore the gps during the drive on gravel road Parking : Ample parking. Unshaded. Ramp to overlook: the ramp to over look is a slope down gravel ramp and isnβt wheelchair friendly. The overlook ramp is well built and host private gatherings every now and then Restroom : Two portable toilets but donβt dare to open the door π Verdict : much cooler than the grand view (personally)

Great views without a 2 mile hike. If you need a break day and the weather is great. Definitely worth the quick ride.

One of the best views of the New River. The road here does go from a paved road to a gravel road without warning, or at least I didn't see one. There's plenty of signs along the gravel road to let you know where you need to turn and go. There were porta potties in the field by the parking lot. I did not have cell service in this location. View also looks down over Thurmond, which is worth checking out. Cool little abandoned town.
