... can also be used for research or study ... contains many words and ideas: none of which are harmful to spine-endowed-mammals ...

Whenever I was a student at NCSU and needed to really buckle down and study, the 3rd and 4th floor were amazing for this. Better than Hunt for this in my opinion.

Definitely a better library than that soulless one on centennial campus.

Is there any microwave or place where students can heat up their foods inside the library?

Amir Hossein Sadeghi | Jun 30, 2022
D. H. Hill Jr. Library | Jun 30, 2022

Hi. Good question. Unfortunately, we have not figured out a way to prevent someone from misusing a microwave in a way that would create smoke, fire, or strong cooking odors (such as burnt popcorn) that bother other people in the Library.

Is there a printer in this library? If so, how much does it cost to print in colour?

Sophie Sjodin | Nov 2, 2021
Andie Waugh | Nov 2, 2021

Yes, there are several printers in D.H. Hill. It costs $0.10 per page in black and white and $0.25 per page in color.

Good question. We will email you, Dr. Hoover.

I have rediscovered volumes I recall were of interest to me while I was writing my dissertation 60 years ago. Their id include HC110 .s366, VOL I AND 2, and HD1761 .T64. Are these on the floor where the check out is delayed?

Dale Hoover | Sep 28, 2020
D. H. Hill Jr. Library | Sep 28, 2020

Those call numbers are on the 5th floor of the D.H. Hill Library. No delay. 5th floor is open as usual. Floors 2-4 are closed. See https://www.lib.ncsu.edu/libmaps. For the materials on floors 2-4, you can request in the Catalog (Books & Media), and library staff will usually retrieve items at least twice each day. When possible, we will retrieve more frequently.

D. H. Hill Jr. Library | Sep 29, 2019

We're sorry it was uncomfortably warm in the room last night! We've reported the issue to campus facilities. They will monitor the temperature in the quiet reading rooms more closely today. If you encounter any spaces in the library that are uncomfortable, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please Ask Us: https://www.lib.ncsu.edu/askus.
