Great views of the ocean and friendly fisherman willing to talk about the days catch. Fairly priced site seeing fee at $2 for an all day pass. The food truck outside has great ice cream and it's an overall pleasant walk on a sunny afternoon.

The Pier is a must every year. Its crooked boards and twisted path lead to a bevy of colorful characters perched fishing at the end, telling tales of their greatest conquests and the ones that got away. There always seems to be a Hierarchy of knowledge and skill among'st the cast with a sense of primal respect. All is quiet until a large fishing rod bends and the sound of spooling line extends from the drag of a reel. The pier seems to come alive and all eyes are fixed on the show! Enjoy the pier.

Such an amazing spot. I do not fish, but the sightseeing is amazing and the people truly make this a one of a kind experience. Great memories at the Pier. I always come here whenever I am in OBX, it is always a good time, regardless of the season.

We did some fishing here and it was incredible. Caught a bunch of Flounder, Perch and Florida Pompano. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They also rent rods and sell bait on site, so it’s very convenient.

Yes, they have had the end of the pier blocked off for the last 2 days setting them up.
I don't believe it is. The web site isn't specific , it just says it's open spring and fall.
Right now according to their website the pier is open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. But if you plan on visiting during spring summer or fall I would call and ask them because the times may change during peak fishing season.

Yes, still closed. You can fish anywhere off the beach, as 1/4 of the OBX population appears to be doing daily.

Not sure. If they can't help you at pier. There is a place next to Miss Hateras offshore boats that cleans fish. About 20 minutes south.
$12 Pier fee, $10 rod rental, total $22 dollars a day. You will need bait so plan on another $10-15 for that
