I was given a list of 3 attorneys by a trusted source and after some investigation decided to give Dan a call. Dan took the time took to explain in detail the ins and outs of my lawsuit and how the process works. I was sued by a debt collector and that 1st call with Dan relieved all the anxiety I had about the situation. I hired Dan for my case and told him I wanted to fight and not settle. He and his team defended me in court and got the judgement in my favor!! 30 days after the win I requested a follow up chat and Dan and I discussed all other credit/debt questions I had. 5 Stars is not enough for you guys! I highly recommend Dan and his team for their A+ service and expertise in all things debt. Call Dan today, you will not be disappointed!!

Heart, ethics and integrity are at the core of The DeLiberty Law Firm. I was referred to Dan for guidance on a credit matter and he not only gave me at least 30 minutes of free legal consultation but offered to guide me through a process of getting my credit back in good standing that was lost due to my husbands passing. Dan is genuine and I would highly recommend him for his knowledge and expertise in his field!

I had a large financial loss and had an overwhelming amount of credit card debt. I was able to settle some on my own and even settled creditors that sued me. I encountered Portfolio Recovery Associates who sued me for a $26,000 debt they bought from the original creditor. They refused to go lower than $18,000 in a lump sum payment or wanted me to make a payment plan on the full balance. I wanted this debt settled. I did not want monthly payments for years. I had $10,000 and that was it Dan got it done. I thought I was passed the statute when I was served with another suit from a major bank on a $25,000 line of credit. Even though the statute passed on my last payment they took money out of my account that was deposited by a relative after the debt was charged off. I was going to borrow money to settle but they rejected Dan's offer. I decided to go to arbitration and he won. Zero!! All for a reasonable fee, I was in a position where I was unable to declare bankruptcy and Dan dealt with my toughest and largest creditors. If anyone has large debts and cannot declare bankruptcy I highly recommend employing Dan DeLiberty.

Questions & Answers

How is your firm different from these debt settlement companies I see advertised on TV and radio?

Most of these companies are out of state and many are "fly by night." They change names frequently and most importantly they don't do anything you can't do yourself. They claim to have special relationships with creditors but often this simply is not true. Even worse, most of the time these companies have all your collection related mail redirected to them - thus the consumer becomes out of the loop!. Many times, people currently enrolled with a "debt settlement" company call me after being sued, shocked that they could still sued and that the creditor did not care one bit about the debt settlement plan or company.

I've been licensed since 2001, so am in my 19th year. Each lawyer who works for our firm currently has over 15 years of experience, minimum.

Who are the most common companies you face in court?

We face both original creditors and third party "debt buyers." For original creditors, it's most often Capital One, Barclays Bank, Discover, and American Express. For debt buyers, the frequent opponents are Midland Funding LLC, Midland Credit Management, Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, Cavalry Portfolio, LVNV Funding, Second Round Sub, etc.

I have clients in your state (PA) whose rights as determined by the FDCPA and FCRA have been violated. I am trying to find an attorney or law firm that can represent them. Also, is there a fee to the client or do you get paid by the defendant?

Most consumer rights violations involve fee-shifting statutes, including the FDCPA and FCRA you mentioned, so there is usually no direct fee to the client. Other services (defending a debt lawsuit), often will have a fee. But I'd be glad to discuss any issue with consumers in PA. Take care
