CUSTOMER SERVICE
Very disappointed, very unorganized. Manager there, the white lady with with short brown hair is incompetent and doesn’t know anything. I don’t how she’s a manager at the DMV. They change the rules whenever they feel like it and have no stability, I feel like I walked back into the 1980’s with the ignorance shown at this dmv. Good thing Idaho is growing and they’ll all be replaced soon with people from Texas, California and Oregon who actually know what they’re doing.

Well sir now we can't even schedule an appointment until August
No. They only do vehicle registration. You'll need to go to the Benjamin Street office. Go early in the morning for minimum wait time.
Based on the Idaho Transportation Department, you need your Idaho-issued identification, vehicle title and proof of insurance. If the vehicle was purchased from a private party, you need the signed bill of sale and a signed release of lien, if applicable. You will also need to have the vehicle present at the DMV for a VIN inspection. Finally, you will need cash or a check to cover the registration fees which can range from $20 to $100 dollars for passenger vehicles.
Walk in is available
You have to go early in the morning prior to 8 am and get on the waiting list for the day or go online to make an appointment.
Hello John, I am unable to find a record for that plate number. It may be that it is too old and needs replaced. We would need more information. It is best in these circumstances to visit your local DMV. Thank you for the inquiry.
Thank you for your inquiry Justin. Officially we open at 8 am. We have been opening at 7:30 am for the last few months to relieve the lines in the morning. All hours are listed as 8 -5. It is a courtesy opening at 7:30 that we are trying for a period of undetermined time.
No you do not, we are open for walk in. Our average wait time is 10 to 15 minutes.
I brought my three year old last week and it was fine. He had a book and just stayed with me. We were in and out quickly because of the system they have going on right now. I physically came, they took my number and called me back three hours later. Then I had to come back within 30 minutes to get my spot. The better prepared you are the faster the appt. There is a fee if you use a credit card, so bring cash/check to save the fee!
Yes. I went in the morning and got on the list, they called me back two hours later and I had thirty minutes to return. I was able to title and register my vehicle, register my vessel and trailer. The folks in this office are all very helpful, knowledgeable and they have worked out a very efficient system.
No driving test at the Meridian location. I believe you need to go to Benjamin for that.
That means they are booked out until June 5th.
Yes! Visit the website: https://dmvscheduling.adacounty.id.gov/
Nope. You can go when they first open and get on their list. They will take your name and number and call you when your turn is up. You'll have 30 minutes to return and you will be permitted into the building and given a number. From there it's about a 5-10 minute wait (my experience). Come prepared and you can be in and out pretty quickly.
You can order a replacement from the Idaho Transportation Department online: https://www.accessidaho.org/itd/driver/profile/replacement
You'll have to take a test, it doesn't just transfer. Also this DMV location only handles vehicle registration, you can go to Boise or Caldwell. Caldwell is a lot less busy. Some people opt for Emmett as it's even less busy.
No
No kidding Why
No you have to take in your title, it was quick when i did mine last week
No. It's strictly vehicle related transactions.
Last time I went in to get my title, all I needed was my ID and the VIN.
Yes
Idaho is a title registered state so one is required to show a title for car..if financed, they require a form sent to the lien holder which may take 4 weeks then U can get new plates with current tags after they get info .. if U own the a breeze... wait times are phenomenal fast compared to other states ..go early & register at the door they will call #
No testing available at meridian. 7:30 to 3:30 at 400 N Benjamin Ln. In Boise
Did you rely on Google or the DMV website? Always call ahead to be sure.
No
Yes. It’s either online or through the personalized plates application located at dmv’s offering registration and title assistance.
Assuming you mean "plates", as in your vehicle registration, the answer is Yes. They can do everything except issue driver's licenses and ID cards.
