We had a little time before our flight home so decided to stop by. Nice, modern zoo. Not huge but a good variety of animals. We especially liked the cats & giraffes. Worth a visit.

Beautiful zoo, the African section is great and the conservation efforts are amazing.

Update - the zoo is back in full swing. We went this morning and many of the animals were awake and moving. The Boise zoo is so lovely. Even during COVID my daughter and I had a great time.

Love going to the Zoo

There were Halloween events that went into the evening before 2020, not sure if they're doing those again. You'll have to check the calendar on the website. You can reserve the zoo for private events after hours. The Halloween events were public.
We did. They also have water bottles and drinking fountains there. But it helps to have a water bottle for the little ones.

Yes, last entry half hour before close. There are a lot of indoor places to see the animals. Free zoo day is the first Sat of Feb as well.
Yes
I know they have free wheelchair rentals.
I was thrilled to see the animals so clearly. I drove from Idaho falls got there about 11 am. My grandkids enjoyed it so much. The petting zoo was wonderful too. Well worth the drive.
They have all sorts of animals alot of birds quite a few reptiles I've been here several times and i love it there they have other types of animals like 2 Sloth bears and other animals.
They are still renovating but all the animals are still on display. Those from the affected areas are just moved to temporary areas.
Yes
From their website: No, except for service dogs. Companion animals are not allowed.
No elephants now.. not enough room i believe.. plus they are starting to take them to very large areas as to not confine them so much... I was security there for awhile ..but that was back in 2003.. A lot of changes i hear.. Going tomorrow to check it out also.. They have a few of the smallest deer in the world.. They have this huge snake named "HOT LIPS".. lol.. a monkey named Charlie that is really sweet an a flirty one named ELVIS...i always stopped to talk to ELVIS ..we would hold our hands up at each other until this female came running up behind him one day and bopped him a good one in the back of his head ...then ran like hell up to the top of their tree ... lmao. And Zebra's make a really wierd Sound at night ..kinda intimidating in the dark.. all alone.. hearing it for the first time! Tomorrow is free day at the zoo btw. Good night folks
It was $8 for 1 senior and $8 for one child (8years old). Total was $16 and it was a nice zoo. We enjoyed our day.
$11 for adults, and $8 for ages 3-11. Ages 2 and under are free.
Not 100% sure.
The sloth bear around 10:30 AM, and the giraffe around 2 PM. Definitely call ahead to ensure they're doing it that day, though.
I did see seniors in wheelchairs, I believe for rent. I remember thinking "finally thinking out of the box." Best to call them directly.
It's open but required to buy tickets online & wear a mask! Very few animals are out available for viewing & they have a path you have to follow & the viewing areas of most exhibitions are closed! We're just there on Monday 9/7!
Definitely
Service animals only
This is a major expense that Zoo boise could not even consider. The valley is growing the zoo will also. There are many more exhibits to add. For now enjoy our local zoo and help fund more programs for the future.
Yes. It's a rental I believe
There's a free day coming up. December 12th at 10 a.m. It's c called Claus 'N Paws.
Yes.
9 to 5 in the summer.
Depends on how much you spend on them, $12 adults, seniors$10
Dear friend don't know cause I'm living in Austria,on February I visited zoo.
Wheelchairs are available at no charge on a first come, first serve basis. Wheelchairs may be picked up at the front gate. They are not motorized.
No
Yea, but there isnt much to see...because of the construction.
Yes. 9 to 5.
The butterflies won't be there much longer.
They don't seem to have any problems with bringing in outside food there is a little area with tables and benches near the front
Did not see one while I was there. I'm sure I went everywhere in the zoo.
I'm pretty sure it's $10 a person
The are no hippos in Zoo Boise currently, and the current expansion has no plans for a hippo exhibit.
Well if you aware of the closing hours, why go in later near closing time. Also summer hours are open later due to temperatures. Most animals are brought in after 5 during the winter months because they drop below freezing.
Yes, bring a couple quarters for the treat machines. Very fun to feed.
They have not yet gotten the miles as far as I know. Its too cold for them now anyway lol.
Yes they do host private events at the zoo. Call them to find out the event particulars.
As of /2018, it is $7 for adults, kids $4.50 and kids 2 and under are free .there is also senior pricing. Oh and these prices are good Oct-April
We went right around 4pm on a fairly cold afternoon and they were feeding the animals so quite a few were out. If they hadn't been I think we would have only seen half or so.
I'm pretty sure that most of the time the zookeepers feed the animals right before or right as the Zoo opens, but the Komodo dragon sometimes gets fed during the day so people can watch.
No, they said it wouldnt be done until july. I was just there 2 days ago.
We are open every day 10am-5pm and only closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
