When a man only has his dog left in his life isn't from around here and when he comes to you for a blanket. Telling him to get rid of his dog and get his priorities straight is not good news. Didnt even bother to treat him with basic dignity and give him a blanket knowing how cold it gets at night here. Disgusting behavior but don't worry I came back home and got him a blanket so him and his dog didn't freeze. Should be ashamed of yourself you are who these people are suppose to be able to turn to and a blanket was to much. Really hope u don't treat most people like that.

This place saved my life during my life's low point. Now that I got my life together, I am back there again...now I volunteer my time...hope others take advantage of this place and all it offers.

Good people here...always respectful and kind and helpful

Is it truly good news when the director of this fine establishment knowingly employees someone who grooms and abuses kids? That person is around families every day! Is it God's plan to have him be around families knowing that a child's life …

They offer a dentist on Wednesday evening. Come as early as 4 if you can.
Breakfast is served early, about 6 am, maybe 7? I think it's over by 7:15. Then lunch is right at noon, and dinners at 5. They allow you to come early, so you're welcome in the dining hall for breakfast as soon as the men's sleeping area is put up; for lunch at 11am; and for dinner at 4 pm. If there is any bible study or Christian movie shown, you can be inside then too, Also when severe weather is very cold or hot, they let you sit indoors. After dinner, a worship and sermon church service is from 6pm to 7pm, and after that showers and beds are available.
the donation center is usually open while the storage is open for shelter guests to access their belongings before and after meal times, but I recommend calling them during business hours. I know for sure they only had clothes, shoes, and small useful things available in the thrift store that they let me shop in for free when I stayed there for a month. The idea is to donate things that are going directly to the homeless population, so there is no home for them to put appliances or furniture to use. But there's a thrift store a few blocks away that probably would. I forget the name of it and cant search for it while already using the Google maps app to be on THIS page but I'm pretty sure the name starts with a P. zoom in on the downtown area close to the Mission and search "thrift stores" and give both places a call tomorrow during business hours. If this doesn't help ask again I'll be happy to look further for a solution with you. oh also another place. I'll edit answer in a few.
It depends on what type of assistance you are wanting. Job placement, training and other similar services are done by appointment at the offices on Market. General help is on a first come basis at the Mission building. Helen is right, early in the morning is best, however, free loaves of bread are available at the backdoor to the kitchen anytime.
There doing sign ups now and it starts around 8:00am till 12 noon
The new life program has a no communication policy. I do not know about the other programs offered.
Yes even dad with baby's they have a separate rooms for that
Well honestly I've been on both sides and they don't just take your services for nothing! And you can always get your services back.
You have to set up an intake to use services there
This is true, our Education Department will help you prepare for college, get you into at Shasta and Simpson at no-cost to you.
If your a member and registered at the mission lockers are free I believe .

It's on a case by case basis youd better go ask
That is a good answer. Just go to the office and ask. The administration there is awesome. They are great people that love people and want to see people rise out of poverty. I love the mission
Sorry I'm not understanding your question. Could you clarify?
I've seen children at the Mission but I'm not sure about the program. It sounds like a hard situation to find, but I agree it's what you need, so I will be praying for you and your kids. Keep moving forward with hope because it's going to be easy to get discouraged while looking for the right program, which may not exist: but if it doesn't, no matter what happens, God himself is looking out for your best with love and attention to detail. So keep telling him what you need! https://americanaddictioncenters.org/addiction-help/ http://newpathdrugrehab.com
I saw many chihuahuas in there and I know they are compassionate people but not sure how strict they have to be. Do NOT ask the girls in the office!!!! Talk to Bill or any of the other guys that help run the men's program. Say you lost your paperwork.
Yes. But you have to know visiting protocols. Give them a call they can help you.
Service animals yes, if you need to know further call and ask them they be able to further answer your questions .
There's usually beds available just show up their and ask where to go no TV test I believe
No
If you have prescription medicine, yes. I think that is okay. However if you are on illicit drugs that might be an issue. Just be honest with them and see what they can do. They do have a lot of rules designed to keep every one safe.
I was not sure so I called and they said basically NO, unless you get special permission. You need a good reason to get the guest password, like getting info for services provided or supported by the Mission.
there is WiFi at the Safeway and at the public library both walking distance from the mission.
Showers, if your not staying are between 7:30am-12pm 1pm-4pm
No all you can do is leave a message
U need to talk with them.i know offer overnite but not sure long term.
The Christmas dinner give away was last week. But you can call them and see
Lunch is at noon. Try to get there around 10 am and talk to Bill or Stacy. Or better yet call 241-5754 and they will give you the details you need. God bless.
I would do it as soon as possible. Contact the mission to see about what you need to do.
Go to admin building to sign up.
