Although they offer service and were being professional, I felt that the girl helping me was no nice at all. Prices are over the roof, I did not buy anything as they support the film inflation with those prices. A USED Olympus RC35 costs $299 - huh?!

The store is great for film and vintage shooters, not do much if you are into new technology, also is a little disorder and prices are high even for used gear.

A little disappointed. I was visiting Chicago for the weekend and stopped in to buy two disposable cameras. The person ringing me up (while very kind and sweet) suggested I get a reusable camera instead so I did. I set the camera up and tried to use it that night but it did not work. The battery included was dead. I was able to get a different battery and the camera still did not work. I did not have enough time to stop again before I left the city. I would have been better off with the two disposal cameras.

The best place for all things camera related in Chicago!

I visit Central Camera every time I'm in Chicago. It's a solid old time camera store with helpful staff. That said since I don't live in Chicago I have never left film for processing with them. Your best bet is to contact Central Camera directly.
It is 2 weeks minimum for processing. And you get your negatives back.
I see some there.... But you can call to see if they have the right size for you.
All used cameras and gear need to be evaluated by one of our reps to be determined if we are interested to purchase them. It's best to come in the morning, or email us
I don't think they do repairs in house but can send it out for repair
They have offered this for several years
Maybe I will prefer cheaper one for everyday purposes
Yes, but be warned: they don't do it on site, and it's extremely slow. It took several months for them to call with an estimate, several more to call back with a price increase, and then four more months before they called to let me know the cameras were ready for pickup. When I came to get them, it turned out the repairs hadn't even been done.
Bring your cameras to the store. They offer repair services. Their hours are Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat 10a-2pm.
Yes, they're open.
Everybody masked up, most have gloves, line is socially distanced, and there are like 7 bottles of hand sanitizer in there
It's possible give them a call
Looted and set on fire but we will be back, we will rebuild. Please donate to the Central Camera go fund me. There is a link on their facebook.
I believe so but call to confirm.
The shop!
I think they can repair those cameras. They for sure sell those cameras. Ask for John If they can't, Central camera can. Ask for Alice.
I would call them.
I would call first.
Sadly, we do not have this available.
Normally yes, but the he is out of town at the moment so repair services have been temporarily suspended.
Probably better to call them or check their online catalog tbh
They range in different prices. Affordable though
They buy all sorts of used working gear. Camers bodies and lenses both film and digital in all formats, darkroom equipment, tripods, lights...
I am not sure , but they are well stocked and progressive. Give them a call before going and they can tell you
yes they do but call the store for specifics
If you call the phone number thats listed on google they can tell you. They probably have 5000 lenses so its best to ask them
Their staff is friendly. I'm sure there will be someone there to help you learn how to establish a connection
They have an assortment of film. Probably best to call them.
Yes, we buy, sell, and trade use photographic equipment. Please visit our shop with your equipment and we'll evaluate it.
the price is 1,500-1,800 dollars USD $
