This place Is gorgeous but has a strange vibe being an old asylum. The stores weren’t exactly what I had expected, a bit too eclectic for my taste.

We took a tour with Katherine. She was a very informed and engaging tour guide. I learned a lot from her. I would recommend this tour to anyone! My only complaint was it was hard to figure out where to go for the tour. There are no signs at all on the outside of the building and I struggled figuring out where to go. (Signs on the inside are great though)

Loving old buildings and history, we absolutely loved this place!! My hubby enjoyed it so much that we bought him a shirt. Well worth a stop and so much history in this place as well as adorable gift shops!

Really great little shops. Definitely take the tour. Our guide was terrific, very knowledgeable and super funny. Had a great time. Would recommend.

Yes! Leashes of course, but there are dogs allowed at the free Thursday concerts, and TONS of room for your dog to explore.
Yes! But you may not be able to get inside of the buildings that are on the tour. You can walk the grounds to your heart's content. And peer in window is etc There are a couple buildings that are open completely to the public of course, with the restaurants and galleries etc that you can walk through. But yes, you can definitely walk through the grounds/check out the buildings from outside.
Two of them, one is fancy (Cordia) and the other is the County facility (Grand Traverse Pavilions).
There were a couple people wanting to come along for the tour that didn't have reservations that could if they paid cash at the time the tour started.
I did not see them. Though they are definitely handicap accessible. I would call the main office
Yes, they do weddings at Kirkbride Hall, which is part of the complex.
Not sure, I would call and ask.
Sorry we didn't eat there
Exploring is FREE you can get a tour of closed off areas but that is not free. But the rest of it is open to the public and they have free concerts in the summer on the lawn .
