Been coming here for years, nice friendly staff, and it's one of the only markets with a great variety of traditional Caribbean foods....however I wish their African yams, the Ghana yams, could be more fresh. Many are rotten. Although they've made it a practice to cut them when you get to the front cashier to verify it's not rotten, many times it IS and then you have to run to the back to get another one or just say forget it and go without. If u or them forget and they don't cut it at the front, u may get home and find out all your yams are rotten. This has been going on for years. They need a new yams supplier. An African lady has a small market around my house and her African yams are always pretty fresh, so I know La Fruteria can find fresher African yams if they wanted to. Otherwise it is one of our staple stores in the household.

Okay I went in there and I seen the beef shank without bone $4.99 and then the beef shank what bone was 329 but they going to tell me and I'm reading it right they going to tell me that the bone was $4.99 and without bone was 499 and I'm looking at the prices on the window back there in The Butchers area they need to learn how to read English cuz that was bad customer service
