Never will I forget receiving a call from Howard at Cutler Rader office. My son called Howard to inform him that I was in accident and was very confused and didn't know where I was. Howard called my cell phone and helped me to come down. He stayed on the phone the whole time and directed me to get checked out. He had patients like a saint. I was so emotional and didn't know why I was crying.. Still to this day- don't know why my son call Howard to get me home?. Lol. But, one thing for sure that I'm very happy he did. I'm able to continue to be blessed and enjoy my family and friends. Then a month later I retain Howard and he kept me always informed and on point. He handler everything. Howard blessings to you and your family. Thank you again. PCarter

This is a question that we get asked a lot. Unfortunately, there really is no good answer to it. Every case is different because several factors go into how long it will take for a case to be settled. Sometimes, in a case with significant injuries and limited insurance, the case may settle within days of an accident, or even sooner. In other cases, where liability or fault may be in dispute, the case could take months or years. At Cutler Rader, we begin working for our clients immediately upon their hiring of us. We work as quickly and as aggressively as possible to move our clients’ cases toward resolution. The Cutler Rader team is motivated to get you the results you deserve as quickly as possible. Most cases can be resolved within 6-8 months, without filing a lawsuit, with some taking longer and others settling sooner.
In Florida, if you are injured through someone else’s fault, whether a car collision, trip and fall, medical malpractice or any other collision that causes an injury, you may be entitled to receive compensation from the at-fault party. This is the very basic principle of our legal system: assigning responsibility for the wrongs. This may mean that the at-fault party may be responsible for your medical bills, past lost wages, future income losses from work, out of pocket expenses, property damage, pain, suffering, mental anguish, scarring, and the loss of enjoyment of life. Amazingly, Florida law does not require drivers to carry bodily injury insurance to make sure they can pay for the injury they cause. If the at-fault person has no coverage or assets, there’s no money to get. However, if you purchased uninsured motorist coverage, which covers you when the at-fault driver has no insurance coverage, you may be able to recover from your own insurance company.

Whether it’s from an auto accident, fall, negligent security, sexual assault, medical malpractice (and the list goes on), the type of injuries varies greatly in any given case. Sometimes it’s a broken bone or bones, but often injuries to muscles, tendons, organs, and nerves are much more serious than a broken bone. For example, a brain injury has no broken bones, but it is devastating. The psychological injuries of a sexual trauma may be horribly incapacitating and affect a person’s daily life in profound ways. Car accidents and falls often cause injuries to the spine, skull, hips, or appendages, whereas a medical malpractice injury may be damage to an organ or excessive scarring. The most common injuries we see in a car accident case are neck and back injuries. To learn more visit https://cutlerrader.com/frequently-asked-injury-questions/.
The most important coverage you can have as an automobile driver is underinsured/uninsured (UM) motorist coverage. This protects YOU in the event that another driver is negligent and causes injuries AND does not have sufficient or any insurance coverage to compensate you for those injuries. According to a recent news report, the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud says 25 percent (that’s one in every four) of the drivers in Florida have no insurance or phony insurance. Couple that with drivers that have insufficient coverage and you could be without remedy if you get hurt. Protect yourself and contact your insurance agent today. Make sure you have UM coverage. If you need help, please give us a call for more information.
Nothing unless we recover money for you. In most personal injury claims, we never require an up-front payment for legal services. Not only do we offer a free consultation, but our fee and costs are not collected until your claim is settled or we obtain a verdict in your favor.
