Because this is also the BEGINNING of the CRAFTS SECTION of the SB ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW!!! It extends from this point East almost to Call Cesar Chavez and other major beach hotels.

Omg. Its gone? Usually i didnt see many kids on it anyway. It probably cost more for the operation and maintenance than what it was worth for the community to pay for. Thats my best guess. Thats a bummer that its gone.
