Lots of beautiful vegetables, fruits, & flowers, as well as fish, seafood, dairy products, and local honey.
Laura D.
I went to see what the market had and I can only say, finally vendors are back and more than I thought. They had fruits, vegetables, wine, cheese, plants, seafood, jewelry, paintings, bakery and so much more. I just wish they clean up the area with homeless people throughout 14th street area itself, not just union Square.

Bought some beeswax to make candles.

Alewife Farm has armenian cucumbers with limited availability starting in July through the end of the season. You can find them at the Union Square Greenmarket on Mondays and Fridays, Tucker Square Greenmarket on Saturdays, and the 82nd Street Greenmarket.
I won't be able to do it today unfortunately because I won't be in that area, but I promise to upload one as soon as I can
Yes they have it. Like the others have said, get there close to daybreak, and you will have the best selections. Some of the small grocers have the best variety.

Hi Christian! You can use your SNAP/EBT benefits to purchase wooden tokens at the Market Information tent, which you can then use to purchase edible products in the market. For every $5 spent you’ll receive a $2 Health Bucks coupon, up to $10 per day, which you can use to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Some farmers have the capability of accepting SNAP/EBT at their stands—look for “EBT accepted” signs or inquire at the Market Info Tent.
Yes! There are a few vendors who have raw honey.
Yes you can
Yes! All edible food items can be purchased with SNAP. And there’s a bonus! For every $5 you take out on SNAP you get an extra $2 Healthbucks to spend on fresh fruits & veg. Please visit the Market Info tent to get tokens - open 8am - 5:30pm.
Yes you can but remember they can't give you change The check needs to be of the exact amount of purchase
Just check their app...my guess is "yes"...they will be open.
Yes!
I haven't seen it recently but yes they usually do and the carrots too! You have to go look and ask. Good luck.
Saw some on Wednesday. They are at one of the apple sellers. Not the sellers right outside the train exit but more of the middle.
Hi Djurdjica! All farmers accept cash, most accept credit/debit, some accept SNAP/EBT/P-EBT/FMNP checks. If a farmer does not accept your method of payment, you may go to the Market Information Tent to purchase wooden tokens which you can then use to purchase items in the market. Happy shopping!
Hi Choenyi! Yes, we do! Please note that fiddlehead fern is a foraged spring produce with very limited availability. You can try visiting Ramble Creek Farm and Mountain Sweet Berry, or check in at the Market Information Tent for the most recent updates on availability. Happy foraging!
Hi Jared! Please visit our FAQs page (grownyc.org/greenmarket/faq) and scroll to the bottom question, "May I sell at Greenmarket?" Here you'll find information about applying to sell at Greenmarket as either a farmer or non-farmer.
I know they take a card called EBT they have a booth where you convert your transaction at OTC?? I'm not too familiar with
Hi Gayla! Some vendors are finished for the season and will return in Spring/Summer while many others are still in attendance. Please visit our website to see a list of all vendors in attendance on any given market day.
Hi Michelle! You are able to find zucchini bread at the market (though in limited quantities and usually seasonally as this is a summer vegetable). Your best bet will be Bakers Bounty, but definitely try other bakeries as well.
Thank you Jessica
Fantastic Gardens of Long Island possibly. They may not have it yet but you can check with them and see when it will arrive.
Yes!! Lots and lots of corn
M, W, F, Sat 8am - 6pm. Year Round
I saw some right there
Anyone 65+ can come to the front of the line.
Yes! But it sold out very early. More will start coming in.
Yes! Please come shop and support your local farmers.
Yes! Mountain Sweet Berry and Norwich Meadows have La Ratte Potatoes. Migliorelli has winesap apples.
Fantastic Gardens is at Union Sq today with plants.
You can go to the main Greenmarket website: grownyc.org and ask.
Hi Bernadine! Unfortunately rice seeds are not available at the Union Square Greenmarket. Most farmers either save or purchase their seeds and do not usually sell it at market. Hudson Valley Seed Company sometimes attends market, but since rice isn't grown in our region, it is not available via HVSC.
HI Phyllis! Unfortunately raspberries are no longer in season and will not be available until early summer of next year.
Hi Leah! You can find over 120 apple varieties at GrowNYC's Greenmarkets, however we haven't had much of this particular variety over the past few years. The following farmers have grown this variety in the past and will be your best bet for finding in the market. According to our records, they do not currently have this variety available, but I highly recommend talking to the farmer--they may have plans of growing it again in the future or you may help bring back the russet apple! Samascott Orchards - golden russet, roxbury russet Locust Grove - golden russet, roxbury russet Gorzynski Ornery Farm - golden russet, roxbury russet If they don't have it, they'll be able to recommend a similar apple. Best of luck on your apple search!
Hi Dayanna! Greenmarket producers are local/regional farmers all from within a 250 mile radius of NYC. We do not offer any tropical produce--such as star apple, oranges, banana, avocado, etc.--in our markets as they do not grow in our climate.
Yes... search the name of produce you are looking for, and you will be able to get vendor's name/vendor's market location.
Yes! Please stop by the Market Information tent to take out EBT tokens to spend in the market. You will find the Market Info tent by looking for a large pink flag that says EBT. You can purchase anything edible with your EBT in the Greenmarket. And there’s a bonus, for every $5 you take out of your EBT you will receive an extra $2 Healthbuck to spend on fresh fruit & veggies.
Yes! A few at Norwich Meadows and Lanis Farm
The Union Sq Greenmarket has fish every day we are open! Monday: PE&DD, Wed: American Seafood, Fri: Pura Vida and Saturday: PE&DD and Seatuck.
Hi Sharon! We have a large variety of fresh peppers of all heat levels (sweet to hot) available at market. If you're looking for seasonings, Lani's Farm has red chili flakes available year-round.
Yes! We have a number of producers that sell amaranth bunches, along with potted plants and flowers. Try Windfall Farm, Willow Wisp, TransGenerational Farm, Lani's Farm, Seton Farm or S&SO. Our producers selling specialty Mexican produce ((El Mimomex, Nolasco's, La Baraja, Acevedo, etc.) usually have this item as well at some of our other Greemarket locations. When you visit the market, stop by the info tent to find out which producers are in for the day and download our Union Square Greenmarket app to keep watch of what's in season. Enjoy the market!
Yes, many of our vendors have both sour and sweet cherries. They are in full season and will be for a few more weeks. Enjoy!
Fantasy Fruit Farm & Phillips Farm have green gooseberries.
I have seen them on occasion. There is an excellent green market app that let's you search by item and will let's you know what day specific vendors are there.
There not there during the week only weekends union square and there one on 57th st and with ave
No. There maybe benders there but not so much local sourced food
Yes
As it is getting late to order I would suggest taking a look at the listing of the vendors per day to see what turkey farms are present and then call them to get in your order. I think Norwich used to but not sure they still sell turkey. Feisty Acres might be an option. There are a bunch of other turkey farms but not sure any are cert organic though certainly wouldn't hurt to check.
The produce at the market is sourced from small farms and is best bought fresh
Well, sir, it is when you take video from an old 90's era video game, heavily distort and rearrange the audio for comedic effect, and post the resultant win on YouTube. Now the better question is: what is love?
Yes they're in the same park
Mon Wed n fri
This location open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays YEAR ROUND Market Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Source: grownyc.org
Yes, not all vendors do, but most will accept WIC checks.
Yes.
Yes, Lavender By The Bay carries lavender sprigs. They attend the market M, W, F, and Sat. There are a # of florists from which to choose flowers on any day the market is open.
Theres a few people who sell poultry. I dont recall anyone selling livers . No less organic.. Organic isnt really attributed to meat .
There is a table that you use the ebt Card to get wooden coins that you then use to purchase your goods
They have all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Jersey tomatoes if in season should be available.
I believe most of the vendors who participate in this Market are there on Wednesday....I usually shop there on Wednesday & I find every stand I need.
I would sugvest checking out GrowNYC's website. It has all the details about the days and farms for each of the markets. If you're looking for a specific farm, you should be able to find it there.
Lots of vendors have a variety
They always carry diff kinds of tomatos.
I think you can opposite the restaurant
They don't sell compost but when they are open they will collect kitchen scraps.
Not sure about that.
In jars.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
No jewelry allowed only local produce
Very likely. For sure about $30 🌲 sold near whole foods (south side of 14 street across from the park)
Rain, yes. snow, sun, too. Vendors travel some distances for this....do,it takes a lot to cancel.
They have purslane in the farmers’ market in the summer - from late June to late September or early October. purslane whithers once the cold weather arrives but grows back next year as soon as the heat is back. You can grow it in a flower pot over the summer if you collect the seeds which are tiny black specks that fall of the flowering tops starting in August, people mistake them for dirt.
Yes
Between 2,99$ -- 7$
Sometimes Roaming Acres Farms has a booth there and sometimes they have bison meat.
Yes, if a vendor has it, but they usually do
