The judge asked if I need an immigration lawyer based on only my name. Does it not say on record I’m a born citizen or do you all just not look? Just assume. That’s Utah for you though

McCullagh, Brendan Is the best judge I have ever had! The first time I had him in court, they start calling out a case number, he interrupted them and said - I deal with people, not numbers. What is their name? Wow! Never would I ever think that someone in his position could be that genuine.

Hi Dana, I am an attorney who regularly practices at this court. The best thing for you to do is to call the court, explain what happened, and request a hearing date to go in and see judge Kwan about your case. The longer you avoid it, the greater the chance that police will arrest you on the warrant and you will have to wait days or weeks in jail to see the judge. The judge appreciates when you take responsibility and come in voluntarily rather than being forced to come in by police. Whatever your explanation is, it will be much easier to explain if you voluntarily contact the court. Good Luck!
