Must not want their library to stay open, bring both forms of id to open a library card since it’s out of state and just moved but the Karen at the front didn’t thing the requirements on Broward County’s library website didn’t suffice. Glad my tax dollars pay for this crab to have a job get a real job

If you're looking to study in a quiet environment this is not the place. People are rude and will sit there talking openly on their phones. There are those that come to study together but instead of using the study rooms, they sit in the open conversing. There are the homeless people sitting around talking, if they're not trying to sleep. There are those with "work from home" jobs that come there to use the wireless. They try to find the back corner cubicles of the room, talking off and on for the job. Then forget it. The library becomes a hangout spot after 2:30 pm every day for some of the kids that go to school next door. They come into the library and are restless and loud. Very loud. Some are there to just wait on their parents to get off from work. Most seem to socialize than do any type of homework. All of these people really don't care if they disturb others and there is no one doing anything about it. There needs to be some huge signs on the walls/desks, reminding people to be QUIET and someone going around every so often reminding people to adhere to that. Or maybe have an intercom message every few minutes about being QUIET and not disturbing others, just like how the library use to broadcast the Covid19 messages about wearing face masks. I was going there for a while, trying to study in advance for a certification exam and finally had to give up and go elsewhere.

Yes
The library will be opening tomorrow at the regular time for customers.
If you go on the BCL website, there is a whole section about volunteering and submitting a request, although it might be best that, after you submit the request, to go to the library, introduce yourself and ask about it because when I submitted just that, I received no response. So, to answer the original question, yes, you can complete community service hours at this library, along with the rest of the Broward county libraries, all of which locations can be found on the website. Hope this helps.
