There is a full gym with a basketball court, which -- when the partition is lowered -- turns into 2 basketball courts. Referred to as "gym A" and "gym B". Must have a membership to use the courts.

Everyone is different. You can go to the YMCA website and get an idea. Also there are insurance companies that pay up front or reimburse you for gym membership payments. So it is best to go in to get your questions answered.

The Haverford YMCA is closed today in light of the Easter holiday.

I used to work for a partner of this branch; a few years ago, they would honor visits from Lansdowne; however, Lansdowne never did the same for outside members. Haverford is one of the best branches close to the Philadelphia border. Only second to Rocky Run!

Adding on to Lucky - a membership is not required for lessons, however, members are able to sign up first, and there is a cost difference.

The program pool is 84 degrees while the lap pool is a more crisp 81 degrees farenheit. You'll hear members refer to the program pool as the warm water pool for this reason.

The children could take swim lessons for a fee for an 8 week period but non- members get the last of 3 sign up dates every 3 months for these swim lessons/ classes. Parents can come to watch but not swim unless they, too, are members.

Yes they have dedicated swim lanes. It can get crowded. Early mornings are good. Sometimes between 8 and 10pm are good to.

I would advise you to visit there website and look through the programs for all the Freedom Valley YMCA locations to see if there is programs that meet your special needs. You can use any of there facilities but will need to choose a home Y that you would frequent the most.
