Really nice nursery with very knowledgeable staff. Their inventory always looks great and healthy. Helpful with plant groupings and color combinations. Size matters so they will always guide you in the right direction. Be specific about the space you want to landscape and they will help you to make it happen.

I stopped by here on impulse on Mother's Day. The selection is fantastic and the plants are beautiful. Someone in the parking lot told me, "They have the healthiest plants." Based on what I saw (and given my very limited knowledge), I believe him. No one came offering help, which would have been nice given my particular situation. However, I was also in a bit of a hurry and didn't go looking. Also, it was Mother's Day!!! I completely understand :-), which is why my rating is still 5 stars. I still need to be frank in my review though.

WOW! First time visiting and What a beautiful place, honestly like a botanical garden since every plant has an info card. Staff is very nice and the owner is terrific! Plants are in great shape and obviously well cared for. the nerve plant, spider plant, and Hoya I got are super healthy and thriving!

Beautiful plants and a nice inventory with plenty of variety. There are several nice pots as well but the prices on those are too inflated. I’d give 5 stars to the store but I was sold a diseased orchid at $85 which was noticeable within a few days that they would not exchange it for a healthy one.

Are the milkweed plants that you sell the Tropical variety (Asclepias curassavica)? I just bought from you.I just read information from the Florida Wildflower Foundation that they are harmful to the monarchs but are sold by many retail garden spots.

Gail Ladd | Feb 26, 2021
Giverny Gardens (Owner) | Feb 27, 2021

Gail, according to the Florida Wildflower website, the tropical milkweed can potentially harm monarchs in three ways: systemic insectides, parasites and migration disruption. Our milkweed are not treated with systemic insectides but may be treated with an organic insecticide if needed and then set aside to allow the residue to dissipate before put on sale. As for the parasite and migration disruption, more scientific research is being done, so it's not settled science. We also carry the native milkweeds: Asclepias tuberosa, incarnata and perennis with the incarnata in stock and the other two waiting to be rooted out. Customers prefer the curassavica as they are more common and fuller with more foliage to feed the caterpillars.

Are all of your plants chemical free, not treated with Neonics?

Patricia Cooper | Feb 27, 2020
Giverny Gardens (Owner) | Feb 28, 2020

Generally speaking, growers of ornamental plants use neonics or any other chemical only where absolutely necessary as they're costly to apply. Only certain plants that are prone to damaging insects are treated with neonics for their long term health. Plants that are known to be butterfly or bee friendly are not chemically treated. Once in our inventory, we treat any insect or fungal issues with an organic product as part of our plant husbandry program to ensure healthy and beautiful plants. Thanks for your query.

My bougainvillea tree leaves have turned pale almost beige. When I stuck my finger in the dirt. The dirt sticks to my finger meaning some moisture not dry. Should I water it more or less?

Tricia | Feb 27, 2019
Giverny Gardens (Owner) | Feb 28, 2019

Your bougainvillea is probably showing symptoms of chlorosis which can be caused by either too much water resulting in root rot, or not enough nutrients. Cut back your watering especially with the frequent upcoming summer rains. Be sure to feed with a bougainvillea fertilizer every two to three months. A good trim back after fertilizing will also help rejuvenate the plant .
