The hotel very dated, the front desk never said anything about breakfast or where to go or when check out was. Got to the room and it was clean i will give them that. However it is dated, you don't have to have a key to get into the side doors of the building and in the morning around 9:30 someone whom i assume was housekeeping opened iur door!! Thank god the chain was on but no knock at all!! it really freaked me out. They should not just walk into a room they need to knock first then ipen the door if nobody answers!! Definitely wouldn't stay again.

We hadn’t necessarily panned on staying in Escanaba on our way through the Upper Peninsula, but we are so glad we did! Beyond the beauty of the parks and lakeshore, this hotel was a great find for us! We didn’t have reservations - we just walked in and checked out room rates and availability. We opted for the slightly more expensive king bed suite that features a sleeper sofa (our son is young and small enough to just sleep on the sofa without folding it out, but the sofa bed was set with sheets and a blanket if needed). The rates were very reasonable and I feel absolutely fair for the accommodations - there are cheaper places in town, but the little extra really shows in the staff, amenities, and room appointments. There was a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in our room, as well as a desk, seating area, and coffee table. The room was very clean and neat - the carpet and furniture were clean and stain-free. The bathroom was surprisingly larger than the average corporate chain hotel’s offering, and was well-stocked and clean as well. The parking and entrances are conveniently located all the way around the building, so we were able to park directly in front of our ground-floor room and access it quickly and easily. We stayed on a Tuesday night, so while I can report that the hotel was quiet and no too crowded, your experience may vary if you visit on a weekend. Reading reviews isn’t always illuminating when it comes to choosing a hotel in a town you’re just passing through, so I’d like to note that I only rate places that I feel deserve your attention - I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Clean, the best I can say is clean. The 70's decor is well kept, but lose the mattresses from the 70's.

Didn't even get to stay. Walked in here with my service dog informed the guy of that he said it was ok. Then when he seen the last two rooms he had were none pet friendly I said that she isn't classified as a pet she is a service dog. He asked me if I "wanted to take it up with the manager." I said yes I have a stack of paperwork I even showed it. We waited 30 minutes only for him to tell me I needed to go somewhere else. So in conclusion I couldn't have the "special" room because I am disabled with a service dog. This is discrimination and sick. Shame on this establishment. I would have called the cops if I weren't so tired after driving 7 hours none stop.
