For the views I give it 5 stars. It's a definite bucket list trail. The trail it's self is only as hard as you make it I think. With lockers big tires and high clearance,had no issues at all. If you can make it past the gate keeper then …

Good trail, would not recommend without high clearance vehicle, maybe a side by side, great views, worth the drive 100%

You better have some past experience and be well equipped if you think you're going to master this trail. One little mistake and you'll be at the bottom of the mountain. Mostly good scenery and good fun.

No it's on the other side of the highway. The gate that's there is closed off by the forestry dept. If you look on Google maps and look where it actually says Black gulch....its the entrance that leads down to there. It's closed. So. Is this closed area and the black gulch where the offroading is. Are these two the same? And if so, why only close one side? I'm just curious.
