If you bring yourself or a significant other here for help. All they do is put you in a room. No Dr comes to talk to you, nobody comes to help you and they won’t let you leave or they threaten you with loss of insurance or they’ll send you the whole bill!! Meanwhile they are the ones that don’t let you leave. This is a crazy system and I hope nobody comes to this hospital. For the staff and nurses maybe you should get a different career, you’d be better as a prison guard or Corrections officer. None of you should have the title of nurse or Dr. Everyone should be ashamed of themselves . Good luck to anyone that decides this horrible, selfish Hospital!! PS : I heard the bathrooms are so filthy!!

Been a few years since I was in Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital for bipolar. Saved my life. Great food, peaceful sleep, tons of accurate info about my disease, got to see psychiatrist everyday and social workers to help. I was safe. It would have taken me months as an outpatient to accomplish what I did in 2 weeks as inpatient. I feel grateful for the help

Yes everyday for an hour if I remember correctly (this was for the adolescents unit though so I'm not sure about adults)
Might be easier to list what you cant. No sharp objects, plastic bags, nothing with string. Or shoelaces. Books, journal, comfortable clothing, hygiene products without alcohol are a great start.
Yes
Contact Vanderbilt directly and they should be able to direct you. I actually just took my mother to Vanderbilt and as long as a bed was available she was admitted. I hope this helps. God Bless.
No, I dont think so. They take voluntary and involuntary admits. Locked facility
Yes they are still open and yes they are still taking patients.
