We enjoyed both the Waccamaw River and Waties Island paddles. Guides Bubba and Bobby were local, knowledgeable, friendly and easy-going. Kayaks are adequate though perhaps not the latest and greatest seats. We had a great time with family excursion for ages ranging 30s to 60s. Others on island tour group ranged in age from 10 to 70.

Booked through Great Escapes to get some kayaking in with some friends over Labor Day Weekend. I would highly recommend their services to anyone visiting the area that wants to get out and paddle. Bubba, our tour guide was also a wonderful; very knowledgeable about that area and very personable! Will definitely book a paddle next trip out.

Based on what I saw when we did it, you would need two doubles. So basically two kayaks with an adult in the back and child in the front.
