In my experience, every single experience I've had with any MID employee, be it by phone or in person, has been negative. Extremely negative in most cases, but negative nonetheless. They never admit or even attempt at finding a resolution to their own personal screw ups. They act like infallible God's welding their power to the "peasants" of the world. Even just paying ur bill on time or early has become a chore comparable only to an exciting and adventurous time spent at the most exilerating day at the DMV, only with less hostility and a much more, I hate you attitude. I can't even begin to fathom the hiring process In hiring these sociopathic narcissists, they call employees. Been a resident of Modesto for two decades and not once in all that time has any experience I had been even nominally marginal or what one could call an acceptable interaction. I hope MID and anyone working for them knows that their is a special place in whatever hell or afterlife or reincarnation or void one may believe in.

MID is awful. They make it difficult to turn on service they charge a huge down and then if your bill is past due because of whatever reason depending on how much you owe they charge you over half of your bill to keep it on. If they have to disconnect you have to pay your whole bill plus an 800 reactivation fee. I've had to deal with them several times and they are rude as ever. They don't care and they make that very well known. It's all about the money for them they could care less about people

MID will grab every cent they can off of you. They do not value you as a customer, all they want is your money. Horrible. Wish I could give them zero stars.

Been using them for some 20 years now with little issue. They even came out one night when I had a fuse throwing sparks at 3 am and helped me get back online so we weren’t in the dark while we waited for repair.

Donatello lives in Manhattan in New York so you won't find him anywhere in Modesto, or on this coast for that matter. Maybe he gave you the wrong address.
You may have to set that up. You can set up text notifications and then just reply to the notification to auto pay it manually. You can also set up finger print or facial recognition log in so that it's easier to get to your account. It needs to associate the account you want to pay to, so it's best to log in so you don't accidentally pay off someone else's account.
Yes, MID Customer Service opened for walk-in customers starting May, 2022.
MID isn't the City of Modesto. You need to contact the City of Modesto.
Yes, we’’re experiencing a power outage in that area due to a mylar balloon that came into contact with a power line. Our crew has removed the balloon and is working to restore power as soon as possible. The best way to report power outages is to give us a call at 209.526.8222. Thank you!
Hi Tony, The best way to report or get the status of a power outage is to call MID at 209.526.7390. Due to the wind today, we’ve experienced scattered power outages throughout our service area. MID crews are working to restore power as fast and safely possible. We appreciate your patience! Thank you.
I had to call the customer service number to disconnect my MID and PG&E services
MID has many rebates available to assist with energy saving. https://www.mid.org/rebates/home/
There is limited visitor parking. There is also parking on the street with various time-limits and MPD enforcement (30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours). There is paid parking at the back of the Modesto Center Plaza.
They definitely will not go out of there way to help you. Check out there rules and exceptions here. If its as much as you say it is then it must be a large space as it states deposit for business is 3x the monthly amount and commercial rates were similar to residential last time I checked. So that means your monthly bill would be around 1000 month putting you upwards pf 5000kw month. I would definitely check into much deeper as this kind of nonsense needs to be put to an end. https://www.mid.org/tariffs/rules/rule_06.pdf
Hi Vicky, Given the recent storms, the Tuolumne River is higher than average for this time of year. Together with Turlock Irrigation District, MID is actively monitoring the weather and managing river flows. We currently don’t anticipate any flooding issues. The Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services provides information on local emergencies including severe weather conditions and/or any related necessary evacuations. We encourage you to sign up for alerts via their web site at stanemergency.com or follow them on social media. They’re a great resource for any local emergency information. Thank you!
Identification, Social Security number and a copy of your lease or deed
With cash money.
It is possible and they can not force you to use a smart metwr. That statement above about integration with billing is a falicy. See article below for info on this subject as smart meters are not mandatory and are also much more dangerous. http://emfsafetynetwork.org/smart-meters/action-now/
Usually about $200.. Unless you can prove u had at least a year of good standing with another electric company
New service must be done during normal business hours. https://www.mid.org
This will go to your last payment when you close account
You can pay on line at anytime or office opens at 8am...
The deposit for residential service is listed at $200.00 minimum. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, I would expect it to be 200 exactly.
No, MID does not employ plain clothes meter readers.
It is part of a maintenance project. They need to be covered to be sand blasted and repainted every so many decades to prevent rust.
I ended up emailing them when registration didn't work and they finished it. I figured they would have fixed that by now. Lol
I’ve been calling them for a few days now and can’t seem to get ahold of anyone either. I can’t pay my bill online because it’s not working for me. I don’t want to have to pay a late fee or my power get shut off. 😡
What ever solar company you choose, will submit an application to MID, then MID will review and approve it.
I’m having the same problem, even with reregistering and the new account number, I STILL can’t access online!!!!
Bills may be paid through MID's website. https://www.mid.org/
Phone numbers for MID are listed on the website. https://www.mid.org/
