When they call the question you but they don't seem to be interesting in calling the utility company their attention nothing is causing my home except water and heat for the winter there's no winter and I get high bills I don't spend that much water I go out to do my laundry that I have people at the laundromat to verify that I've been there doing my laundry so there is no gas for laundry and at least it's not $1,000 for the gas my stove is electric I got pictures of everything in this house is electric except for water and heat

Cost Recovery Charges = OE FUNDING LLC, TE FUNDING LLC, CEI Funding LLC.... PUCO approved First Energy to charge us whatever they want each month. And why are these companies listed in Delaware but linked back to First Energy Address in Akron?

I understand this is a representative democracy, but wait... We select the governor (who I didn't vote for), He selects the five commissioners to lead the dept, and surprise, they are all friendly to the energy companies. This year the energy companies have again asked to be allowed to raise rates. Not by a little; the natural gas companies are asking for a threefold increase. Crooks, leading a broken system with no real concern for the customers who are hurting more than ever. (search for Ohio HB6)

Public Utilities Does listen to you, there maybe a lack of understanding, the premises of your argument has to be solid. If you still think its unfair, then take it to court, there is nothing else to do.

I don't seem to understand the whole PIPP deal. It says right on their website that once you make your PIPP payment "The balance of your utility bill is subsidized by the state of Ohio". So if balance is paid by the state , why is there a balance?

john heppeard | Sep 28, 2018

Here's the wording as it appears on the site: "If your home is heated with gas, you will have a monthly payment of 6% of your household income for your natural gas bill, and 6% of your household income for your electric bill. If you heat with electric, your monthly payment is 10% of your household income. The balance of your utility bill is subsidized by the state of Ohio. There is a minimum monthly payment of $10.00." "Subsidized" does not mean paid in entirety. In this case, the subsidy is the difference between what you would owe, and what you actually pay.

My electric bill is close to 300 a month even after having wiring issues in 2 rooms of the house where there was no electricity in the rooms and using our wood burning stove to heat the house which uses no electricity...I NEED HELP FIGURING THIS OUT

It's a program that doesn't allow you to go in arrears, you're already getting a reduced rate.

You will need to contact customer service from 8 am to 5 pm

First energy told us that they no longer are our electric service provider. Yet we have not been contacted by anyone to pay a bill. The accounts on the first energy website are closed how does that happen without our permission?

William Howes (xOMetalHeadOx) | Sep 28, 2019

It's a practice called "slamming" where a competitive energy provider switches you to their energy supply without your permission. Your utility should be able to tell you who your energy supplier is. And you should be able to complain to PUCO and have your provider switched back. Check their website: https://www.puco.ohio.gov/be-informed/consumer-topics/get-help-with-a-complaint/

Is the Highland county water company fall under the watch of the public utilities commission of Ohio?

It depends on if they are publicly or privately owned. If you check PUCO website, there is a resource to find your utilities by address. You can also call the hotline and ask.

If the owner of the property was them, and now you own it, then yes you should transfer it to your name. One of the uses for the death certificate.

How do i make a formal complaint

Scarborough Charles | Sep 28, 2018
Christina Frost | Sep 28, 2018

Don't count on any help or resolution from the PUCO. Sad, but true. I had DP&L turn my lights off with no bill due. Showed my paid receipt. Took me 6 hours on the phone to get it back on, and they made me pay the next month's bill to turn it on.

Do you handle phone company complaint s?

Roger Rife | Sep 28, 2018
Jo Shahan | Sep 28, 2019

I would like to know also! I'm fortunate to have a mobile phone but as a senior citizen I am concerned that we have been without our land line for the better part of 2 weeks, and not scheduled for a technician for another 3 days. What if the land line was my only access to 911? Frontier needs to upgrade in southern Fairfield and Hocking Counties.
