I rented a pickup truck and it had snow in the boot space but I let it go since I was in a hurry. I returned the car back with the same amount of fuel it initially had but they still ended up charging for fuel . When I'm being flexible with couple of things I expect the same from the company as well. This is not the first time I have rented with U-Haul and I have never had such a bad experience with U-Haul before

If I could give them zero stars I would.. I ordered a 15 inch truck granted that day it did rain but that still shouldn’t of had the back of the truck leaking.. The truck was leaking messed up all my boxes due to wetness they came a loose at bottom and all my stuff came out of boxes. I had to spend a extra 100 dollars on boxes due to that.. I ordered a regular dolly and a furniture dolly they were not on the truck also. I showed pics the next day when I went to drop off truck and they only thing they were concerned about was the payment.. I would never rent from this place ever again ..

I am posting this review because I just had a good experience with this company/location. Like another reviewer (on Yelp?) I felt very uncomfortable going here because of bad reviews - and while I am sorry that people had a bad experience, for my part, the worry just added more stress to what turned out to be a very smooth transaction. I rented a car hauler to pick up a an electric car in Albany and get it home. (Not enough tome to register it to drive it home.) I was nervous about driving four hours and having a problem, but... I picked up the hauler with no problem. A guy there hooked it to my van no problem. We loaded up the hatchback onto the hauler no problem. I drove home no problem. Returned the trailer to a different location no problem. I went in on a Thursday and one associate was busy with another customer. Another (newer) associate came in to help the first customer but needed help with some details (or maybe the more experienced associate just had a lot of suggestions.) The price was reasonable. Possibly less than I expected. The other customer, I overheard, had a very expensive bill and was trying to get a handle on charges so he could plan better next time. I think it's important to read the information carefully and understand how you'll be billed before renting. My one complaint is that it seemed to be impossible to get in touch with the location by phone. I called and held for what seemed like forever - being told again and again that my hold time would be 10-15 minutes and I just gave up. I used the "chat" feature from the national UHaul web page. That was slow too - but once someone got on the chat with me s/he was able to assure me that my reserved trailer was already at the location and answer some other questions I was uneasy about. My trip was a last minute thing. My advice would be to plan ahead and find out what the charges are ahead of time. I found the web page easy enough to use and this location gave me no problems checking out, finding my trailer, getting someone to put it on for me (wow! I didn't expect that.) Nobody bothered me when I met up with someone in the same parking lot to buy his car and took my time loading it up. Access to the expressway was super easy (if you study the map ahead of time). Be sure to watch the suggested videos and other information on line. They're very helpful. If I need to Haul another car, I would be glad to repeat this experience. Four stars. (Holding back the fifth star for the telephone experience.)

What a Rip off they are. Rented a truck for a couple of hours, returned the truck. No one was at the return area, ran into the employee and gave him the keys. Didn't receive the final bill until days later and a surprise with it! The employee didn't do the return and someone used the truck, they charged me for two days of rental plus mileage. I advise you to go inside when returning any rentals so they don't RIP YOU OFF!!‽

When you reserve a uhaul they have this feature called extra help. Meaning they will come to you have and helping pick your belongs and also help you move it to the state of your choose

I feel you should honor the way they treat their loyal customers. Go around either side of the building and look straight ahead. Then throw the keys into the Hudson! Just be sure to send them a bill for your troubles. Oh yeah, and NEVER answer your phone when they call to see where the keys are and why they owe you 179. If you accidentally pick up tell them it's to cover insurance in case your personal vehicle burns up in a fire you started at your own home. They will understand. They don't cover damage that happens within their building without extra coverage either. That about sums it up. If you auction off the UHAUL truck instead of returning it then you are my hero and they were treated as they treat u.
If you pick it up and drop it off at the same location, it costs between $20-$40 for the truck for 1 day and then its like .79 a mile. So google the distance and you should have a rough estimate
