The Barrelhouse is very popular and has a friendly staff. This was my second visit and both times were outside, seated or standing in an alley. The venue has heaters and is hip, but it traps every noise and it is impossible to carry a conversation - we read each other lips and left without a voice. The Barrelhouse offers some warm appetizers and charcuterie too. Everything we tried has appealing look, but when the warm appetizers get cold, they are tasteless. The best part IMHO are the beautiful and tasty cocktails. Unfortunately the glasses are so full with ice, the actual drink is only a handful of sips.

Mediocre cocktails, terrible service but a good atmosphere. I’d only order beer or wine here.
