Where do I begin. If I could rate this hospital a negative I would. Dr. Mohammed Yasin ignored the emergency note from Oschner (it contained the medication my loved one is supposed to be on, the only one that he ever responded to) the day he arrived at this facility. He proceeded to put him on the same medication that failed multiple times before. We were calling the social worker Alan almost daily, it always went to voicemail. Only once we managed to get a hold of him, were we relayed our request and emphasized what medication he should be given. This seemingly never reached Dr. Yasin. To be fair, the social worker is in charge of most of the patients there, and he is obviously overwhelmed. It’s still no excuse to keep a concerned family out of the loop, with zero updates. It reached a point we had physically go to the facility and demand to see the doctor. They told us he was not there. We got to see nurse Lisa however, and she honestly was the only good thing about this place. She was understanding, and seemed to actually care about the well-being of her patients. She relayed what we told her about the medication. But unfortunately, Dr. Yasin said his job was not to treat, but to stabilize. Very odd thing for a doctor to state. Especially when my loved one was stable in the first place, and was admitted voluntarily. So he basically did nothing during his 10 day stay. The day of discharge, the social worker added that “Oh, by the time we knew about the medication request, it was too late because we want to discharge him and don’t want to keep him more in here” Mind you, the medication was in his emergency note the day he arrived, and we called several times to emphasize this point. It’s just that nobody bothered to do anything, because no one cared. In summary: my loved one on his discharge day was in the same state as when he was first admitted.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was here for 10 days and it was a nightmare. I wasn’t given my medication for the first 3 days I was there and literally had to beg the staff for it. When they finally gave me medications, they put me on medicines that had nothing to do with my diagnosis and made me feel horrible. I witnessed staff openly laugh at and mock patients. It broke my heart to see people in the middle of such a dark point in their lives be laughed at and made fun of. The food portions are so small I was always hungry to the point of trembling and feeling faint. We did absolutely nothing all day- no group therapy no activities. We simply just sat around waiting for the next meal. Some of the staff were nice, most were horrible. Throughout my 10 day long stay, I only was with the doctor for a total of 10 minutes. This place did absolutely nothing and honestly made me feel worse than when I went in. It’s literally a prison. It shocks me that this place has not been shut down.

Only because I had to give a star to write a review. Amy the nurse is SUPER rude. My son was brought there and I KNOW he was NO problem. The social worker is rude. They can ask you a million questions but tell you nothing. I am going as far up as I can with this one. My colleagues and my son's Healthcare provider are all working on this. If your passion is NOT to help those that are mentally ill, find work elsewhere. I called today and my Councilman is on board as well. This is a horrible ordeal already to have to get your loved one help but all the rudeness and hanging up in our faces is uncalled for. This is only the being. Accountability will be taken by this facility for the hanging up and rudeness. I have never been so disappointed with someone in the mental health business. Signed, a sadly disappointed mother!!

If I could give this hospital no stars I would . My loved one was sent here for serious mental illnesses and they kept her over the weekend and sent her home on a Monday . This place is terrible . No doctors ever called . No interventions were planned .
