As an African American woman and employee of the YMCA I can say that I felt VERY unsafe here. While in the steam room with my African American boyfriend there were 3-4 Caucasian guys talking very loudly about Trump the entire time. The biggest guy in the room was shouting about how much he would vote for him again and he “only sent a few mean tweets.” I mean they just would not let up. Naturally as a woman I’m afraid of any man bigger and louder than me. But to put on top of that fear of potential racism from someone bigger and louder than me and with such close proximity to me was just too to have experienced. As an employee too I felt so disheartened. These are not the values of the YMCA, using fear as a tactic to make others like myself feel unsafe, less than, and a potential target because of my skin color. I will not be visiting this YMCA ever again and I do not recommend others of a differing ethnicities to either.

I have nothing bad to say about this place! The staff, the Cleanliness the temperature in the gym, down to channels on the televisions. Amazing place I don’t want to go anywhere else . And I don’t have to fight with the grandkids to go there! Wish I had it when my kids were young! The kids love child watch and the staff always wear a huge smile on there face!
