Amazing, phenomenal, great service. The hand rolled and hand made sushi and nigiri were fresh and large portioned. Get the buckwheat noodles, unagi, and mackerel. WARNING: Clarify if you want pieces by INDIVIDUAL pieces or ORDERS. I asked for 2 nigiri, reading that a serving was 2 pieces. They interpreted that as 2 ORDERS and the final total was crazy. Just specify and make sure they understand you.

The server said the raw shrimp has not been frozen at all. If so, how did they get rid of parasite and lower food risks??!!

I never write reviews but I felt this was warranted after the shock of opening my to-go bag. I spent $36 on two to-go meals and barely received any food. The beef meal pictured below was 18$ and there were only a few tiny pieces of meat (as you can see). I ordered a rainbow sushi roll for $15, and that is not what I got either. I basically receive a huge log of rice with tiniest bits of what looks like some mayonnaise-y crab mix in the center (which is not at all what a rainbow roll is). You can see below how much rice there was. They did not pack any utensils, and there was also no soy sauce so I had to eat this by hand, without soy sauce, and eventually just threw it out because it was not a rainbow roll and I realized I was basically just eating rice. I can’t believe how much money they changed for this. I never send food back either, but if I had not taken the food to-go and was far from the restaurant after discovering this, I would have gone back and demanded more food/them to remake it/ not to charge my card for this food.

Nice tucked away Japanese spot, found it by surprise and fully enjoyed the food and dining experience. It’s a mix between traditional and innovative Japanese cuisine, like that it’s small in size. Update after have been going for over 2 years, I still recommend the place, would go more often if I live in the neighborhood. I think this is a mom and pop restaurant, likely there’s only 1 person cooking, so food doesn’t come out very fast but the quality’s always good. I enjoy coming here by myself when I’m not in a rush for anything, order a few small plates, some sake or beer, have a nice meal. Their fried oysters is the best I’ve had across all Japanese restaurants around Boston that I’ve tried.
