A hidden gem, quiet in the winter. Lots of trails for snowshoeing.

Hidden Gem with beautiful trails and property! Lots of wildlife, hiking for all ages and skill learning. The trails are well marked and enough parking for all to enjoy. I would recommend going west side first then along the on the bear trail. Highly recommended!Thank you for visiting and for your review of Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary. Hopefully you also got to visit the Bog Trail with its elevated bog walk - another visitor favorite!

Lovely reserve! Plenty of trails through various Northland habitats. Great experience with kiddos on the Discovery Trail, hunting for the hidden figures. Kept all the members of our hiking group (ages 7-40) entertained and engaged in outdoor activity. Excited to explore more of the facility.

Questions & Answers

Can we just come for a few hours, hike some trails, and walk the grounds?

Absolutely! The Sanctuary is open to the public anytime during daylight hours and check in is not required. A kiosk, located in front of the farmhouse, provides maps and other information. A nature playground is located behind the farmhouse.

I found a Red Bellied Sapsucker with a hurt wing and could not fly. Do you take injured birds to try to rehab?

Hello Celeste, Unfortunately, we do not take injured birds. However, Kim Amman is a vet at Spooner Vet Clinic in Spooner Wisconsin and she rehabs raptors. If she can't help, she would likely know who can.
