STAY AWAY!!! Booked "Himes Hideaway" cabin for a Wed through Sat in July 2022, six people and two dogs. Arrived at the cabin, unloaded everything (think about how much that would be) despite it not being clean and the AC not working, walked out on the deck and watched my 130 lb daughter-in-law's foot go through the deck floor. Not safe. Leslie (not sure her title) apologized and put us in the "Kentucky Sunshine" cabin for the three nights. One less bedroom and bathroom, minimally cleaner, but AC worked so we would make due. Loaded everything up and hauled it to the new cabin and unloaded again, still Wednesday. The next day, Thursday, Leslie and Manager Mike show up at 6:30 pm saying this cabin is actually booked to someone else for the weekend and we have to be out by 11 am the next day, Friday. So, instead of putting the second group in a different location once, they would make us move to a third location in three days...a trailer that wasn't even in Slade! Not exagerating. This despite Leslie admitting she didn't tell us about the second group when she put us in Kentucky Sunshine on Wednesday, and without concern for the fact we had two excursions already booked and paid for on Friday. Manager Mike says there is nothing he can do and to call the owner. Owner wouldn't budge and complained we were bothering him while he was walking on the beach in Florida! "Why should I have to deal with this" he asked. "Because it's your business" we told him. He offered a refund for Friday if we chose not to stay. Wow, thanks. You won't charge us for a night we aren't using the cabin. So our choices became: 1) eating the cost of at least one excursion to go find somewhere else for six adults and two dogs for one night on short notice at the height of tourist season; 2) we could load up everything again and go to another one of their dumps, a trailer which is not even in Slade; or 3) we can eat both excursions (no place for the dogs) and go home a day early. We chose 3. Read other reviews. Do not patronize this business unless you want to risk your vacation being ruined as ours was. And even if you don't get this ridiculous runaround, the cabins are filthy anyway. Be careful trusting reviews from "local guides," which there are a ton of. Most don't even mention staying in a cabin. These are probably friends of this shoddy company doing them a favor. One of the companies responses even mentions that poor reviews lower the price they can get for renting the cabin. Good reason for false reviews.

Deserves a Lawsuit I have never left a review and I’m leaving one now. This company is atrocious. They deserve 0 stars. We booked Himes Hideaway for three nights for six adults and two dogs and we had just got there and were unloading the car, and my wife FELL THROUGH THE DECK. Yes, her right leg went right through the deck, which is 15 feet in the air. Furthermore, the air conditioner was broken and the house was 85 degrees. The doors didn’t open because the floors were warped and the cabin was altogether DISGUSTING. Even so, we took the accident in stride and they moved us to a new a cabin. We repacked and unpacked again at the new cabin which was in much better shape. The NEXT DAY two employees show up and say that we have to pack up and leave a THIRD TIME (in two days) because the cabin we were moved to was booked. The employees, despite constantly shifting blame, were polite enough and gave us a number to call. We called that number and were apparently speaking to the owner, and this is where things went terribly. Despite being inconvenienced, we were willing to work with the company still, but we would’ve liked compensation for having to move three times in two days. Instead, what we got was the run around from the owner who just refused to even comment on MY WIFE FALLING THROUGH THE DECK, and stated, “I shouldn’t be dealing with this, I’m on a beach in Florida.” The THIRD “cabin” they wanted to put us in was literally a double wide trailer. Clearly, the owner cares nothing for his business or others on their vacations. The more I read the negative reviews and the owners responses, which are nothing but excuses, the more I stress: DON’T USE THIS COMPANY. It is poorly managed, poorly owned, and there is no accountability, just constant excuses.

I have lived in the Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area 53 years and absolutely love this area. I have seen over the past 23 years a increase in tourism and rentals. Natural Bridge Cabin Company is the oldest private rental company in the area. They do their absolute best to accommodate their guest and clients. People coming to the area should be aware they are in the woods. With that, yes there are insect's, varmint's and critters, yes they will sometimes be in the properties. Also those who own a home should understand things can give out and give up. When issues arrive Natural Bridge Cabin Co. and staff do their best to cure any and all issues promptly if they are notified and are made aware of them. If you expect perfection then, I would recommend the Marriott.

Not clean at all. There was hair in the drain and a Qtip in the bathroom when we arrived. Both me and my husband stepped on broken glass that cut our feet. There were crumbs under the ottoman. We didn’t shower because the water smells like sewer. I couldn’t barely stand washing the dishes from the smell. The only good thing about this place was the hot tub. You also have to drive 15 minutes just to drop your trash off because they don’t have trash pick up. Also they ask for a hand written review at check out that they “may put on the website” which I’m sure they only post the good reviews. For $840 I expected to be able to shower at least.

From what I have seen they are all nice and well kept and vary from 1-3 bedrooms but some have lofts or basement like in them with more beds but aren't necessarily counted as bedrooms.
Anette's Hideaway has 4 separate sleeping areas. Thanks
