First time at Island Kitchen and I’ve heard very good reviews but those reviews didn’t match the experience. I ordered the panko eggs benny and they were ok, the hollandaise had a very strong butter taste, could only eat one. My boyfriend asked for the huevos rancheros and it was basically just beans, so many beans… also asked for the eggs well done and they came runny. We ordered something else for him and they brought it in a to go box, asked for a plate and they brought another to go box (?) our server checked on us once and that was when she brought the bill even tho we weren’t even closed to finishing. Overall bad experience, won’t be returning, very sad because the ambience of the place is nice.

The food was okay. The service was horrible. Last week, myself and several friends visited our mutual friend, who lives on the island. Our first meal, was Island Kitchen. First, our server, Nate, brought out wrong size of wine order. He brought out large pour, when we ordered small pour. We weren't charged for his error, so, no harm. But one friend ordered raw tuna dish, not realizing it was raw. She explained to Nate, she couldn't eat it. She asked for it to be cooked. Nate returned it to her with a LAUGH, stating the kitchen wouldn't cook it. Yes, the server LAUGHED at my friend, and then offered Tuna Tacos as replacement dish. I gave Nate less than 15% tip, because his service sucked. But I did tip. Wish, in retrospect, I hadn't, and instead spoke with management. Nate needs to rethink his career choice.

We have two hand sanitizer stations, staff wear masks at all times, guest wear masks when they are not eating and we are seating at 40% of our capacity.
