I would never use their service again. They came to my home as scheduled, but they charged me $200.00 for a $20.00 part that they had in the van. This is in addition to a $ 97.00 service charge which I thought was fair. This was a simple to install part.

NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES! Our AC quit working on the 2nd hottest day of the year, go figure. We googled companies and went down the list and not having any experience with with who to call we decided we would use whoever could get us in the quickest. Other companies were scheduled out a week or more. When I called Arctic Air Katie answered and offered to get us on the schedule for the next morning. I let her know I had 3 young kids and 2 dogs and asked if anything sooner would be available. She placed me on hold and said they only had after hours available. I let her know I would need to check times with my husband. Before I could even call her back she called me and said her repair man was moving quicker through his jobs and she could put me at their last time slot for the day. Dean who came out to repair our AC unit was great! He called to let us know when he was on his way, which with 2 dogs I greatly appreciate! He was very knowledgeable and got the job done quickly! He even educated my husband and I on our AC unit and filters! We can’t thank Katie and Dean enough for going the extra mile!

I can't say enough good things about Arctic Air. Moved into our new home on Monday. Air conditioner went out on Tuesday. Called several local AC repair companies and was told they couldn't come out for a service call until next week, after the Fourth of July weekend. Arctic Air agreed to send someone out on Friday and get us rolling before the holiday weekend. Scott, the service technician couldn't have been nicer or more professional. He did a great job of explaining and repairing our system. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided and highly recommend Arctìc Air for all your air conditioning needs.

Questions & Answers

Is it normal for my heat pump to deliver warm air (not hot) and operates for long periods of time?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022
Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90°.

How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.

What maintenance should I perform on my air conditioning unit?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

How often should I replace my air filters?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022
Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

Is an HVAC system with higher capacity better?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022
Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

How can I increase the lifespan and efficiency of my home’s HVAC systems?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022
Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.

How do you measure the efficiency of an HVAC system?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022
Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.

What size HVAC system should I have installed on my property?

Arctic Air Inc. | Mar 1, 2022

How are the sizing capacities of heating and cooling systems measured?

Heating and cooling systems are sized according to their tonnage. One (1) ton equals 12,000 BTU/H (British Thermal Units/ Hour).
