I’ve been shopping at Kirklands for well over 15 years. I’ve always loved their style, selection and quality and have spent hundreds of dollars at their Brick Commons location. I’ve always been treated quite warmly at that location until today. I had gone to the store to pick up an order that I placed online as well to purchase an accent table that I saw on their website that it stated it was in stock. I’ve always joked that Kirklands is my FAO Schwartz so I went in there not only looking for the table but also checking out the most recent merchandise as I haven’t been in there in a while. I was just looking around the store and I felt as if I was being followed or watched. As I paid more attention, I noticed the sales person looking curiously at me, but I just figured she was wondering if I needed assistance. When I couldn’t find the accent table I decided to pull up the picture and show it to the girl who was following me around. I had asked her was this particular table in stock she looked at me incredulously and said I don’t know and then she asked a very tanned, I believe manager, do we carry this table without even looking or asking for a SKU she said no we don’t and walked away. I guess I should be impressed that they both know the stock without even looking it up. Then she asked me "was that the reason why you were roaming around the store?" I said no, that was the reason why I was browsing. I didnt appreciate her inference. I had gone out to my car with the intention of not returning and even picking up the item that I had ordered online but decided against that since it was paid for. When I had to return into the store to retrieve my on line purchase, I got the look of “you again”. When I had asked to pick up my order, she gave me the impression that she was shocked, that I was actually a paying customer. She had gone in the back and ordered me "you stay right here". She rang up the order handed me the receipt like I had a communicable disease and said there’s your picture, pointing to it, with her head. Not even a thank you... nothing. I’ve never been into a store where I was made to feel like a second-class citizen. I am incredibly disappointed in Kirklands that they hire such people who would make their customers feel as if they "don't belong" Mind you I wasn’t dressed to the nines I had jeans and a T-shirt on and probably didn’t fit the typical demographic (tan, white shorts, navy top, brown strappy sandals full manicure and pedicure) but I had a very hectic day and dressing up to go into a furniture store didn’t appeal to me. I will not purchase anything from Kirklands again and I do hope that someone in corporate reads this and they could enlighten their employees on how to handle loyal customers better.

Horrible service. The women named "Karen" says she's the store manager gave me nothing but attitude when ever I asked a question. I wanted some furniture that was on top of a shelf and when I asked to buy it she rolled her eyes and said "ugh". I'll never understand how rude nasty people work in retail. Guess she lives up to her name.
