Came to the end of Folly Beach to see the lighthouse and beach, but got totally distracted by all the sea shells all over the beach with every incoming wave. We were there at low tide and many of the shells were broken, but it was so cool to see so many of different shapes, sizes, and colors. Actually found a full living sand dollar and put that back in the water, along with a small jellyfish that washed up at some other time. It is so pretty, I didn't want to leave.

My favorite part of the beach in this area. Beautiful views if the lighthouse and the ocean. Easy 1/4 mile walk

No. Clothing is mandatory.
Fish, yes. Surf, not really any waves. The road leading up to the entrance is residential and you can park all day free. You do have a long walk to the water though that is paved.
No signs posted regarding pets. Seen a guy with a leashed dog on the beach. Looks pet friendly to me
Yes
There isn't a parking lot, but you can park in front of the houses on the street that lead to the gate entry. Of course, don't block any driveways. I suggest getting there as early as possible. I recently went to photograph the sunrise, and when I left around 8am, parking spaces were almost filled up. The walk from your car, past the gate, is about 10 minutes until you reach the beach. There are no restrooms either. Hope this helps.
There is a parking lot a short walk to the dunes. I think it's $1 at the pay box.
They are way down after you go through the gate
