Our nurses are so kind and helpful. They take their time and never make us feel rushed or unimportant. It has definitely been a wonderful experience.

I do not recommend Kindred Care of Monroe. My Grandmother was with them and when they discharged her there was NO communication as to how we were suppose to get her colostomy which when it was time to call and order her supplies, we were very surprised to hear that we would be having to go through another company that we knew NOTHING about it and didn’t know the exact name of the supplies we were supposed to get. We as a family were very much in a frantic because my grandmother was almost out of supplies. We had to pay out of pocket $60 to get wafers for her so she did not go without. The in office staff was pretty rude when I called and I didn’t appreciate that because as I stated we were already in a frantic. They never called the day before to plan a visit like they were supposed to then they would say we “missed” a visit when they would either not call or it would be so late in the day and the same day as they wanted to come out when they did call we had a doctor’s appointment or something planned for that day. There was 1 person that I would always try to talk to if we needed something because he was always so nice and so accommodating and when I called again and asked to speak to that person they said he didn’t work there anymore, that man loved his job and you could tell it just by talking to him, I wouldn’t imagine he quit. I know we will never go with kindred of Monroe again since that person has been let go.

Transportation, especially to medical appointments and procedures, is a popular home care service. It can often be arranged in a few hours, but the more notice given is always better. A regular planned schedule can be set up, or the caregiver can be used on an "as needed" basis.

How Are Caregiver Scheduling And Reliability Managed?

Our agency uses a phone-in time card system that alerts the scheduling supervisor if someone does not check in at the appointed time for any unforeseen reason, so that a supervisor can immediately come by to care for a client until the caregiver arrives or a replacement is arranged. This also guarantees that clients are accurately billed for the actual hours worked. It is one of the major advantages of working with an agency, the assurance and peace-of-mind that back-up staffing is an integral part of the service, especially for frail seniors.

Do You Provide Caregivers For Someone In An Assisted Living Facility?

Yes, we do. We first arrange a meeting with the family to conduct a thorough assessment and develop a plan of care. This is not only to fully understand what activities or senior care services are needed, but also to get a sense of what kind of personality might best suit him or her. After this is completed, we will match the person with a caregiver. If at any time you would like to change your caregiver, this can easily be arranged.

What COVID-19 precautions are the home care workers required to take?

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is presenting significant challenges for all of us, but especially older adults and people with chronic conditions who are most vulnerable to the virus. Our in-home care makes it possible for older adults to heed the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing while continuing to receive the care they need to manage existing medical conditions. We strongly believe that the care we deliver is lower risk than the delivery of care in other settings, where patients are more likely to be exposed. And in-home care can help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations. We are taking every possible precaution to protect our patients, their caregivers and our clinicians from the spread of the virus: · Every in-home clinician must pass a daily health screening before being approved for patient visits · We have restricted access to our branch locations for visitors, as well as clinicians to minimize our exposure to COVID-19 · We are employing the use of telehealth technology when appropriate · We are conducting risk assessments on every patient who is referred to our service or currently on our service · We require personal protective equipment when treating patients with confirmed positive COVID-19 tests and those under home monitoring for coronavirus · We have provided updated training on infectious disease control to all of our employees, including the proper use of protective equipment · We’ve established a multi-disciplinary task force to coordinate and lead our efforts related to COVID-19 Kindred at Home is also working in partnership with local, state and federal governments—as well as other home health agencies—to devise and promote industry-wide solutions to this growing health crisis. You can count on us to remain vigilant during this challenging time. We are 100% committed to you and your loved ones.
