I was initially unhappy with how we were treated when we arrived. The tech who came out to take my dog back was obviously annoyed with me and she scolded me and then just took my dog by the leash and took him away without any explanation about the process. While I understand this to an extent, I wanted him to receive immediate attention and he did. But I had attempted to treat the problem without an ER visit and she did not like what I had given him. There was no opportunity given for me to explain that my personal vet had approved it. I was made to call poison control at my expense to prove that the dose I gave was safe. Once I waited an hour on the phone, paid $95 to get approval of what I gave, and reported this info to the staff- I was then told that we had to wait because they needed to confirm the info provided from poison control. My question about this process is - if we are going to wait for you to contact them for the second time, why do I have to go through this process during a time when I'm so concerned and panicking about my dog's condition for you to just repeat it to verify I gave you correct info. Also, your vet (dr) should know the therapeutic dosages of medications and safe dosages vs toxic dosages. This shouldn't even be a part of the process!! With that said, the staff in the back including Dr Johnson and the vet tech (I don't know her name) were so kind and compassionate and took such good care of my boy. He made it through this and will recover without any complications. I am so grateful! I could tell they legitimately cared about him and they also explained everything thoroughly. All the costs were explained and they were willing to make minor changes in the treatment plan to accommodate me trying to lower the cost. I was very happy with the care he got and I'm so glad my best friend is still with me and will recover completely! Picture added for a little cuteness overload...

A bit of a wait. Great staff, people were all patient with the wait time. Once called back we had a caring employee. More wait. Vet came in and explained what they had done and his next treatment. Only issue- small dog- small pills. They did not quarter the pills for us. Overall staff was caring and friendly.

Doctor Djani and the entire staff at Blue Pearl took great care of my dog Bailey. I would definitely recommend this hospital for anyone seeking a specialist or needing emergency services for their pet. Everyone made sure I was well informed and educated on what medical treatment I needed for my best friend. I am very grateful. Thanks again!

I would give a 0 but they don't give that option. Horrible experience took a 6 weeks kitten in with a bulging eye. They wouldn't do anything because it was healthy. Tell me how one eye shut another bulging is a healthy cat. Would never reccomend them. They don't care for your animal they only care about the money. Eight years ago the one in Mt. Pleasant cared about your animal but they were not BluePearl back then.

Veterinary Specialty Care. I went to the one on Berlin G in Summerville. It was on a Friday after normal Veterinarian hours. There was a chance he wouldnt make it through the night but they took care of him overnight. He has completely recovered since and is back to normal. They are very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend them in an emergency after normal vet hours. They worked very closely with my vet Oakbrook Veterinary.
Hi Shauna -- our fax number is 843-606-9119. For any other questions please give our hospital a call at 843-216-7554, option 2 for Summerville. Thank you!
I would take him to your local vet is you have one you use, they will most likely give you better service if they are familiar with your pet. The cost will probably be less than the specialty care vet as well.
They are open 24 hours. You can call and see if this is something they do. Hope your pup feels better.
