Hi, Binh! All of our Zoysia varieties thrive in full sunlight, but because they're warm season grasses the possibilities are a little more limited with shade. Our most shade tolerant Zoysia varieties are Zeon and Leisure Time. They each need at least 4 hours of direct sunlight each day to thrive. You would need to trim some trees to provide more sunlight or look into other options for a more shade-tolerant grass, such as Elite Tall Fescue, in the back yard. Yes, you can purchase as little as 10 sq.ft. of sod at a time and pick up at our store!

Hi Buz. The most shade tolerant sod offer is Elite Tall Fescue - it just requires 3-4 hours of sun per day however it may not be the best choice if that is a high traffic area. We have a few articles on the subject of grass in shady areas on our website under "Lawn Tips & DIY". You might find those helpful but I would also suggest giving us a call and discussing the challenges or even sharing some photos with Super-Sod of Raleigh. Hi Diane. We recommend seeding as a much more effective way to establish a Centipede lawn. It is faster and cheaper then plugging. To plant Centipede seed you need to wait until soil temperatures are up around 65 F - that is usually around May.but you can check online. Hi Mike. We sell individual rolls of sod that provide 10 square feet - they measure 2' x 5'. The rolls can be cut to fit the size that you need and are great for patching or making repairs. We recommend watering right away to get the fertilizer off the top of the grass and into the root zone where it will take up the nutrients. Also, water activates fertilizer and gets the nutrients to the roots.

Yes, we grow and harvest TifBlair Centipede but typically need a minimum of 2 days' notice to get you on the harvest schedule. Sometimes we do have extra in stock for pickup same day. Just give us a call about that availability!

Yes, we still have some in stock at the Cary and Raleigh Farmers Market stores. However, now is not the best time to plant Tall Fescue seed. We recommend September and October for best results with seed. We also have sod available to order and now is a good time to lay sod. Our stores will be open again on Monday morning at 8:00AM. We harvest many of our sod types year-round, fresh and according to order. While we like to have sod orders at least 3 days in advance, you can always check to see if we have any extra inventory for pick-up the day you need it. Just call us to ask about the inventory we have in stock. If we don't have the particular grass variety you want today, we'll get you on the harvest schedule as soon as possible!
