Positive: I didn't like anything about this hotel. Negative: no elevator. Property as a whole is dirty and unkempt. Broken ice maker.Air conditioning was not working properly in my room. Mold in the bathroom. Roaches crawled upon me as I slept. Proximity to Interstate 40= loud. Inconsiderate staff

The staff was the best thing about the hotel. Jennifer was friendly and helpful- but the hotel itself is not one I’d recommend. We booked a one bedroom suite - the “bedroom part” of the suite had a mattress leaning against the wall and a new-in-appearance sleeper sofa shoved up against the door because the lock on that door (which led outside) didn’t work. There were 2 queen beds in the main part of the room. Generally, these suites have a bed in the bedroom, a bed and sleeper sofa in the other part of the room - here, due to the door that clearly didn’t lock - that second room was unusable as to open the sofa you’d have to move it away from the door. Went to the desk and explained the issue - she was kind enough to give us a second room with a queen sized bed. The hotel has clearly been trying to update things - new carpet, the beds are decent, and things were “clean”. What I mean by that is that the bathroom was spotless, linens were clean, there was no dust and the carpet was well vacuumed. However, there were splotches of sprayed stuff on the walls, trash around the exterior of the property, and the pool (which wasn’t advertised as a feature- we didn’t come for that) is filled 1:3 up with putrid green mosquito breeding water and trash. What causes the one star review, however is that my daughter’s car had the catalytic converter cut out overnight. As soon as she started the car we realized what had happened and almost immediately a hotel “guest” came over to tell us that his brother had a shop that would have all the parts needed to fix the car and that “this happens here all the time” and they come through “that fence right there”. He said “I saw you come in last night and figured this might happen”. But we could call his brother and he’d surely have the parts we need - even maybe some used ones … mmmhmm. Ok. Police also verified this “happens a lot” in this location. Do yourself a solid and drive further.

If I could leave half a star, I would. The only reason for a half star is because we have clean sheets. When we got in, the door wouldn’t unlock with two different key cards and the nice lady (she was nice) up front helped us get in the room. The heater isn’t exactly working well in the room and it’s below freezing outside. There is no proper deadbolt. The bathroom has a hole in the wall and a lot of scratches on the door where it appeared a dog was locked in the bathroom and tried to escape. I definitely do not feel safe here, but you get what you pay for, I guess. 0/10, would never return. Absolutely horrible experience. Also, there’s ice all over the stairway and breezeways, which is a hazard. Also ended up with bed bug bites. This was posted in March 2022.

Giving this 5 stars because the front desk lady that was there during a very horrid situation. She handled it far better than i would have. She deserves a raise and also a great recommendation letter! Seriously! I would trust that woman with my life. The rooms are not good, but the staff has always been very kind. Again, the five stars is for the front desk lady i mentioned earlier.
