5 star facility. Been to other nursing homes in northern Westchester but the staff at Cedar Manor is compassionate and caring. Rehab was great as well. George is great and so are the other therapist. Highly recommend this place.

I am writing a candid review of the administration, facility and staff of the Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with delight. Their attention to their residents in their charge was generous and constant. If I had to choose a few adjectives to describe the people and actions of Cedar Manor, they would be highly energetic, sensitive, innovative and inspiring. How do I know this? I was one of their residents! Residents of a Rehab Center have many needs: physical, emotional and psychological. They met all of my needs with professionalism, a polished skill set and kindness. I recommend Cedar Manor without reservation. Residents of Cedar Manor have every advantage to mend and move forward with their lives. I look back with thanks knowing that it was my good fortune to find myself here in my moment of need. Allow me to conclude that I wish them many more years of success with their mission. Over the course of many weeks, they put me back together and on the road to a healthy and happy life. George N. Castellanos, PhD

A nursing home should be a safe and reliable place for patients to receive the additional assistance they require. I can attest this facility is 100% not it. The nurses don’t attend the patients. The nurse assistants are horrible as well. I remember one sweet assistant tho, but no one else seemed to care about the patients. You have to physically be there and bother the staff so they actually do their jobs. Otherwise they let the nurse bells ring forever. They don’t care enough and some (nurses) seem overworked/maybe understaffed, which really points to management/ownership issues. Once during an emergency and the nurse bell was rang, the nurse who works during the day on weekends took her sweet time getting to the SICK patient. Almost 30min to an hour. Even another staff (dietician) went to the nurse and told her that she is going in shock but the nurse did nothing ONLY UNTIL a family member pushed them to. How sick is that. It’s actually cruel. The only helpful and genuinely caring person was the dietician at the time (I think her name is Allison) but she left because she probably saw what a toxic place this nursing home is. Additionally, one of the social workers is nasty and rude. The way she speaks to customers is appalling. Especially working as a social worker, she needs to know how to control her emotions and not take it out on the customer/patient/patient family. I also know people who have worked here before (not as a nurse, in other departments) and they said this place is a mess which is why they have such a high turnover. If you want to bring your loved one to a proper center where they can receive the care they deserve to receive, then you should not bring them here. Never again. Also this is specifically addressing the short term care division. Long term division may be different.

Questions & Answers

Are people there for rehabilitation able to have visitors?

Jill Kiefer | Sep 26, 2021
Jacqueline Cousins | Sep 26, 2021

Jill, Any resident coming from outside the facility requires 14 days isolation and would not be able to receive visitors in person. During this time you would be able to do window visits or FaceTime visits. Our Admissions or Recreation department can help you arrange all visits.
