My Mom was one of the original residents when Venetian Walk opened. She lived there until I had to move her to a skilled nursing facility a few months ago. Naturally, it is a great location and the place looks like a high end luxury resort. However, that is not why I’m giving them 5 stars. They earned it because of the people. The residents were always kind to her. They were always welcoming her to all of the many activities they had on site. That tone and culture is set by the wonderful people who work there. The maintenance team and the administrators were always helpful. What touched me the most was the Manager. Jolene did things for her that were way above and beyond the call of duty. I won’t list those things here out of respect for her privacy. However, I will state one of them. Despite her demanding schedule, she wrote my mom a wonderful hand written letter several months after she was gone to make sure she is doing well. Only people who truly care about others do those kinds of things.
