Rude. Need to be more professional.

Terrible. Just terrible. They do not respond to emails, they have terrible service and generally unprofessional. Literally sent at least five emails and made calls to try to get my kids lessons here. Absolutely no response. Awful. Just awful. We had them ride here once and it was fine, but you would expect overall better service. Whoever owns this stable needs to fire the entire staff and find reliable and employable people to run these stables. I cannot emphasize how awful, rude and generally unprofessional I found this staff. I would give zero stars if that was an option. I recommend everyone look elsewhere. It’s unbelievable that they’re still in business. Just stay away.

I send my love to all the horse's there. Animals are so beautiful, & absolutely amazing! I met two New York City Parks Enforcement Officer's on Father's Day on Johnson Ave. Those two Officer's were very nice, & we had a nice about 10 minute conversation. They were both on two horses. Told me they were doing Park Patrol for that area. I was obviously petting one of the horses a lot. It was wonderful. I feel bad I didn't pet the other one. Didn't think about it. They told me that those two Law Enforcement horses were from down there. Very cool! I got lessons when I was way younger at Riverdale Stables. I love how great they take care of the horses. About 5 months ago I saw one female NYC Parks Enforcement Officer going through the forest part of Van cortlandt Park on one of the horses. Cool. This photo is of the two very respectful Officer's, & the two beautiful horse's I saw on Johnson Ave that day. I have to add the male Officer was very handsome.

Love this place. So casual and so easy.

You can use the boots they have if they have your size.
You can print the brochures from their website! www.riverdalstables.com
I do not believe they do pony rides regularly. They do have a motherd day pony ride with photos on mothers day but beside that I don't believe they have pony ride any other time.
The price is based on time. $60 for a 30 minute private and $100 for a one hour private. I would call just to double check on if he would be able to ride. You are required to do a 30 minite private lesson your first time as an introduction so that they can get to know how well the child can already ride and their overall strength and they can determine what ponies they could use. But as I said, I would call them to double check :)
You can request a horse after a lesson for your next time you'll be riding but it's not a 100% guarantee you'll get that horse :)
You should contact stables directly about lessons and such.
