Pain D'Avignon is out of the way, located inside a nondescript, industrial-like building. (That's because its main business is as a commercial bakery serving retailers throughout the Cape.) Don't let the exterior fool you. The interior is warm, inviting and beautifully laid out. The French food is expensive -- certainly by Cape standards -- but also exceptional: creative, surprising, and delicious. And the folks who work there, from manager to servers, are professional, pleasant, and seem enthusiastic about the place as well. Highly recommend. (I've been there for lunch as well. Their quiche Lorraine is simply the best I've ever had.)
