While I have no issue with John refusing to allow the situation as that is his job's directives I'm assuming; it's a genuine shame I cannot enter the premises to quickly buy food & water and quickly leave (past operating hours; I called the Oswego Fastrac's location and spoke to him and politely asked such when I noticed he was in the building with the lights on). If I were in charge of Fastrac (not all businesses, just gas stations that also sell overpriced food and water necessities/novelties) I would review the policy with the board of directors and add a stipulation that if a person happens to see an employee in the building with the lights on with seemingly little work to do; that they be allowed to let the hypothetical customer enter the premises to quickly buy food & water & be out on their way; so long as the employee felt safe to do so. To be fair though, I am a temporarily homeless person living out of my car (even if I am rather polite and respectful about it and look presentable); so while my opinion may be valid I also don’t have the work experience of running such a large business to back up that claim with facts.
