Since my grandaughter works at chester pediatrics..we have lunch there at least once a week..affordable..friendly..sometimes a wait..but it's because everyone knows of their goodness..

The footlong hot dog was wonderful coleslaw chili mustard and onions. The french fries was more than enough for two people and the wife had a hamburger that she really enjoyed. Service was great prices are okay. I'll go back again I'm sure.

I went to the Central Park Deli tonight. For the first time, I wasn't impressed by the service. I arrived at 7:10, a full 50 minutes before their closing. When I approached the counter and got a menu for perusal, the cashier side-eyed me and asked if I was dining in or ordering to-go. I said I wanted to place a to-go order. After another eye-roll, the employee moved over to the other side of the register to take my order, which consisted of 3 hot dogs, a kid's burger and an order of fries. They barely made eye contact and could not answer basic questions. After I placed my order, paid and tipped, the same employee immediately walked to the door and switched the sign to "closed". Then they took the phone off the hook. The restaurant wasn't busy, four of their 20 or so tables were occupied. I felt like my being there was an imposition on the employees. If you wish to close at 7pm, by all means please do. But it was close to an hour before closing at a quick-serve restaurant, so I don't see why I was made to feel unwelcome by the employees.

I have been going to Central Park Deli since I was a little girl so roughly 20ish+ years. The place is classic. The food is delicious. They have my favorite potato salad! Delicious franks and of course their sandwiches are fantastic. One of my favorite sandwiches is the pastrami and corned beef. They also have a nice selection of craft sodas that aren't regularly seen in restaurants. I would highly recommend this local delight. One thing of note is that if you go with more than four people you need to plan to sit at different tables. They only have 4 top booths available. Also, the place is clean including the bathrooms. Decor hasn't been updated in as many years as I've been going but it's sparse and you don't even notice with the food being so delicious.
