I haven’t been to Metro Dinner in a long time and I have been craving their chicken and waffles. Due to the Labor Day rush, I thought I’d get take out from the Mandarin/Julington creek location. Kayla got my order over the phone and she was very polite and attentive. She was clearly very busy but still smiled when I arrived and she offered me some tea as I was waiting. The raspberry iced tea was as great as I remembered. It took about 20-25 minutes to get my food but it was on the morning rush on a holiday so it is understandable. Everything was great. We got the chicken and waffles, the bacon avocado scramble bowl (hollandaise on the side), and the bissel breakfast. My only concern was the cheese grits which were not creamy at all- they were more like a thick paste. Other than that we had a very good experience, especially considering that it was Labor Day and around 10-11 am on the morning rush.
